Job summary

Oswaal Books is seeking a seasoned Chief Operating Officer (COO) to drive scalable growth and strong execution across operations, revenue, and customer experience. The role requires leading cross-functional teams, building scalable systems, and leveraging data and AI to inform strategic decisions.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in operations or general management and an MBA or engineering degree, with a track record of improving efficiency and profitability in consumer-facing or ecommerce

Qualifications

• 12+ years of overall experience in operations, strategy, growth or general management.
• Senior leadership experience managing multiple functions and cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of operations, revenue growth, P&L, budgeting and commercial performance.
• Demonstrated experience in scaling businesses, building processes and improving operational efficiency.
• Experience with digital business, ecommerce or consumer-facing businesses is advantageous.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to translate strategy into execution with founders/CEO.
• AI-driven business transformation experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO and leadership to develop and execute business strategy, growth plans and company priorities.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, optimize processes, improve productivity and build scalable systems and SOPs.
• Drive revenue growth across key channels and improve customer acquisition, retention and profitability.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization and resource allocation to improve profitability.
• Lead and align teams across Operations, Supply Chain, Production, Ecommerce, Marketing, Sales, CRM, Customer Experience and Administration to meet goals.
• Leverage data, technology and automation to optimize decision-making and scalability.
• Establish KPIs, performance reviews and governance to ensure execution.
• Mentor leadership teams and foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and strengthen the organizations overall business operations, drive scalable growth, and ensure effective execution of strategic priorities.

The COO will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership to translate business strategy into measurable outcomes across operations, revenue, growth, customer experience, people, processes, and profitability.

The ideal candidate should be a strong business leader with experience in managing cross-functional teams, building scalable systems, improving operational efficiency, driving revenue growth, and using data to make strategic decisions.

Role & responsibilities:-

• Business Strategy & Execution: Partner with the CEO and leadership team to develop and execute business strategy, growth plans, and organization-wide priorities.
• Operations & Process Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations, optimize processes, improve productivity, and build scalable systems, SOPs, and automation.
• Revenue & Business Growth: Drive revenue growth across key business channels, improve customer acquisition, conversion, retention, and overall commercial performance.
• P&L & Cost Management: Own business performance through budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, profitability improvement, and effective resource allocation.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and align teams across Operations, Supply Chain, Production, Ecommerce, Marketing, Sales, CRM, Customer Experience, and Administration to achieve business goals.
• Data, Technology & Innovation: Leverage analytics, technology, automation, and AI to improve decision-making, operational efficiency, and scalability.
• Performance & Governance: Establish KPIs, performance review mechanisms, accountability frameworks, and risk-management processes to ensure consistent execution.
• Leadership Development: Build and mentor high-performing teams, strengthen leadership capabilities, and foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:-

• 12+ years of overall experience, with significant experience in business operations, strategy, growth, revenue, or general management.
• Proven experience in a senior leadership role managing multiple functions and cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of business operations, revenue growth, P&L, budgeting, and commercial performance.
• Demonstrated experience in scaling businesses, building processes, and improving operational efficiency.
• Strong understanding of digital business, ecommerce, customer lifecycle, or consumer-facing businesses will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong ability to work closely with founders/CEO and translate strategy into execution.
• Experience with technology, automation, analytics, and AI-driven business transformation will be an advantage.
• MBA / Engineering / equivalent advanced qualification preferred.
