Job summary

Mannil Exim (opc) invites a seasoned NBFC leader to architect growth, governance and profitability. You will define business strategy, lead expansion, strengthen risk and compliance, and build a high-performance leadership team across finance, operations, technology and treasury.

The role requires deep RBI/NBFC regulatory know-how and a track record of scaling lending businesses in India, with a hands-on approach to funding, ALM and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

  • Senior leadership experience in NBFC/banking/financial services or lending businesses.
  • Proven ability to build, scale or transform a lending business with governance.
  • Deep understanding of RBI/NBFC regulatory framework, credit, risk, collections, treasury and financial management.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive AUM growth while maintaining portfolio quality and profitability.
  • Experience in fund-raising, lender relationships and institutional stakeholder management.
  • Experience in building and leading multi-functional, senior leadership teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to build the NBFC into a scalable, profitable and well-governed financial institution.
  • Develop and execute business strategy, annual operating plan, budgets and growth roadmap.
  • Lead expansion strategy including product, geography, branch/network, digital and distribution.
  • Drive AUM growth, revenue, profitability, customer acquisition while maintaining portfolio quality.
  • Develop and strengthen credit, risk, collections, operations, technology and customer-service frameworks.
  • Establish credit policies, underwriting standards, risk appetite and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Ensure compliance with RBI and NBFC regulations, internal controls, and board policies.
  • Build ALM, treasury, liquidity and capital-management framework with funding relationships.
  • Engage with banks, investors, debt providers and other strategic stakeholders.
  • Lead fundraising and liability management (bank finance, NCDs, securitisation, co-lending).
  • Develop a high-performance leadership team across key functions.
  • Establish KPIs and governance structures; drive performance reviews.
  • Identify opportunities for new products, customer segments, partnerships and tech-led finance.
  • Implement MIS, dashboards and data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
  • Maintain focus on asset quality, NPA control, fraud prevention and operational risk.
  • Ensure corporate governance, audit, compliance and internal controls.
  • Present regular performance reports to Board and shareholders.
  • Identify regulatory, market, operational risks and take corrective action.
  • Represent the company before regulators and investors.
  • Drive readiness for scale and potential fundraising/IPO.

Role & responsibilities
  • Provide overall strategic leadership and build the NBFC into a scalable, profitable and well-governed financial institution.
  • Develop and execute the companys business strategy, annual operating plan, budgets and growth roadmap in alignment with Board objectives.
  • Lead the business launch and expansion strategy, including product, geography, branch/network, digital and distribution models.
  • Drive sustainable AUM growth, revenue, profitability, customer acquisition and market presence, while maintaining portfolio quality.
  • Develop and strengthen the NBFCs credit, risk, collection, operations, technology and customer-service frameworks.
  • Establish appropriate credit policies, underwriting standards, risk appetite, approval authorities and portfolio monitoring mechanisms.
  • Ensure strict compliance with RBI regulations, applicable NBFC regulations, statutory requirements, Board policies and internal controls.
  • Build a strong ALM, treasury, liquidity and capital-management framework and maintain healthy funding relationships.
  • Develop relationships with banks, financial institutions, investors, debt providers, rating agencies, fintech/technology partners and other strategic stakeholders.
  • Lead fund-raising and liability management, including bank finance, NCDs, securitisation, co-lending and other appropriate funding avenues.
  • Build a high-performance leadership team across Business, Credit, Risk, Collections, Finance, HR, Technology, Compliance and Operations.
  • Establish a performance-driven culture with clearly defined KPIs, accountability structures and management review mechanisms.
  • Identify opportunities for new products, customer segments, partnerships and technology-led financial services.
  • Ensure effective implementation of MIS, dashboards and data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
  • Maintain strong focus on asset quality, NPA control, collection efficiency, fraud prevention and operational risk.
  • Ensure robust corporate governance, audit, compliance and internal control systems.
  • Present regular business, financial, risk and strategic performance reports to the Board and shareholders.
  • Identify emerging market, regulatory, competitive and operational risks and ensure timely corrective action.
  • Represent the company before regulators, lenders, investors, industry bodies and other key stakeholders.
  • Drive organisational readiness for future scale, technology integration, geographic expansion and potential institutional fund-raising/IPO, as applicable.

Preferred candidate profile
  • Senior leadership experience in NBFC, banking, financial services or lending businesses.
  • Proven experience in building, scaling or transforming a lending business.
  • Strong understanding of RBI/NBFC regulatory framework, credit, risk, collections, treasury, ALM and financial management.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive AUM growth while maintaining portfolio quality and profitability.
  • Experience in fund-raising, lender relationships and institutional stakeholder management.
  • Strong commercial understanding combined with a high level of governance, compliance and risk discipline.
  • Experience in building and managing senior leadership teams and multi-functional organisations.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a growth-stage organisation.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and Board-level presentation capabilities.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in launching new products, entering new markets or building branch/digital distribution networks.
