Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Chennai seeks a Design Engineer Electrical with 15-20 years of experience to lead the electrical design delivery for major projects. You will develop design calculations, drawings, specifications, and BOQ, and ensure alignment with tender and operating requirements.

You will coordinate with site execution teams and suppliers to guarantee that the design is followed and testing/commissioning are completed.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years design experience on Electrical systems.
• Proficiency in ETAP, DIALux or similar software.
• Knowledge of interdisciplinary input preparation for Electrical/HVAC/Fire/ Architect/Civil.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate and deliver electrical design calculations, drawings, specs, and BOQ for tenders and projects.
• Coordinate with site execution teams and vendors to ensure design compliance and testing/commissioning.
• Ensure design supports buildings like airports, hospitals, railways and metros, stadiums, malls, hotels, convention centres, offices/IT buildings.

Role Summary

Design Engineer Electrical will be responsible for the overall design delivery of the Electrical systems. The role will include design, coordinate and provide design calculations, drawings, specifications, BOQ and other technical documents for tender and operating projects. The person also needs to coordinate with site execution team and vendors to ensure that design is followed, and T&C is done accordingly. He/she should have expertise in building projects like airports, hospitals, railways and metros, public spaces like stadium, malls, hotels, convention centre, offices/IT buildings etc.

Desired Skills

• Should have 5 to 10 years design experience on Electrical systems.
• Good knowledge in technical specification, design calculation and analysis of the requirement of all the Electrical systems. The person who has working experience in various simulation software like ETAP, DIALUX and similar software will have an added advantage.
• Knowledge on interdisciplinary input preparation for Electrical/HVAC/Fire/ Architect/Civil etc.
• Basic working knowledge on AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks .
