Job summary

SJ Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design for major buildings & infrastructure in Mumbai. You will drive load calculations, SLDs, layouts, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with Indian and international codes.

Strong leadership and BIM/Digital design expertise are essential. The role requires 10–18+ years of experience and a BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• 10–18+ years of experience in electrical design for large building projects.
• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Lead and deliver electrical design and engineering for major buildings and infrastructure.
• Develop and review deliverables including load calculations, SLDs, layouts, sizing, and lighting designs.
• Coordinate HT/LT power distribution, transformers, DG sets, UPS, and related systems.
• Ensure compliance with Indian and international codes and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead design deliverables for commercial, IT/ITES, hospitality, healthcare, residential, airports, and mixed-use developments.
• Prepare technical specifications, equipment schedules, BOQs, and tender documents.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and lead client/design reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers, BIM designers, and modelers.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and design submissions for quality and compliance.
• Support project teams with design changes and site queries.
• Implement BIM and digital design workflows using Revit MEP and AutoCAD.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Buildings & Infrastructure

Experience: 10–18+ Years

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering

• Lead and deliver electrical design and engineering for major building projects, including commercial, IT/ITES, hospitality, healthcare, residential, airports, and other large-scale developments.
• Undertake electrical design for infrastructure projects and associated facilities as required.
• Develop and review electrical engineering deliverables, including load calculations, single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, equipment sizing, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, and lighting designs.
• Design and coordinate systems such as HT/LT power distribution, transformers, DG sets, UPS, emergency power, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, and electrical containment.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, equipment schedules, BOQs, design reports, and tender documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant Indian and international codes, standards, and project-specific requirements.
• Coordinate effectively with Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, ELV, and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead design coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review design drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical submissions prepared by junior engineers and BIM/design teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Electrical Engineers, Designers, and BIM Modelers.
• Manage electrical design deliverables in line with project scope, programme, quality standards, and client expectations.
• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, technical discussions, and coordination workshops.
• Support project teams in resolving technical issues, design changes, site queries, and construction-related electrical challenges.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documents, where required.
• Ensure effective implementation of BIM and digital design workflows, with hands‑on experience in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and relevant electrical design software preferred.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of electrical design principles, engineering calculations, codes, standards, and best practices for building and infrastructure projects.
• Take ownership of projects and work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary and international teams.
• Support business development activities, including technical proposals, scope definition, resource estimation, and preparation of technical inputs, as required.
• Preferred experience: Large-scale and complex building projects with exposure to commercial, IT/ITES, hotels, hospitals, airports, and mixed‑use developments, along with experience in infrastructure projects.
• Strong communication, coordination, analytical, problem‑solving, and leadership skills are essential.
