Job summary

Krrid Academy is seeking a Chess Coach and Storyteller to transform game positions into engaging narratives for children. You’ll coach 1-to-1 and group sessions, explain tactics with metaphors, and create short-form and long-form content for social platforms.

The ideal candidate blends strong chess knowledge with expressive voice, on-camera presence and a passion for storytelling, helping build Krrid Academy’s public identity and reach a growing audience of young learners and parents.

Qualifications

• Strong chess knowledge and coaching ability.
• Experience teaching children, preferably in a structured coaching environment.
• Excellent verbal communication and storytelling ability.
• Clear, expressive, and pleasant voice/accent for video and voice-over content.
• The ability to play with language, use metaphors, and create memorable explanations.
• Strong on-camera presence and confidence.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both children and parents.
• Creativity and an instinct for content that can hold attention.
• Reliability and consistency with scheduled classes and content production.
• FIDE rating is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Create short-form and long-form chess content for Instagram, YouTube and Krrid Academy’s social platforms.
• Record educational reels, storytelling videos, advertisements, and promotional content.
• Use your voice and presentation style to help build Krrid Academy’s public identity.
• Create content that attracts parents, children, and aspiring chess learners.
• Collaborate with the Krrid team to develop high-engagement content ideas.
• Maintain a fixed teaching schedule along with a consistent content-production schedule.

Chess Coach & Chess Storyteller — Krrid Academy

About the Role

Krrid Academy is looking for a Chess Coach who can turn a chess position into a story.

We are looking for someone who understands that great chess communication is not only about explaining a move correctly.

It is about how you say it.

The right candidate should have the ability to take a critical position, a brilliant combination, a mistake or a complete game and present it through storytelling, metaphors, expressive language, engaging phrases, and a naturally captivating voice.

We want someone whose communication can make a child curious, make a parent stop scrolling and make an audience want to hear what happens next.

This role combines Chess Coaching + Storytelling + Voice & Communication + Video Content Creation.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct high-quality 1-to-1 and group chess classes for children.

However, your rating is not the only thing we care about.

We are looking for the person who can look at a position and say:

“Your opponent thinks the king is safe.”

“But sometimes, the safest-looking king is the one standing closest to danger.”

That ability to make someone see chess differently is what matters to us.

Compensation

Teaching Compensation

• ₹300 per 1-to-1 class
• ₹350 per group class

Additional Content Incentives

An additional ₹5,000–₹10,000 per month based on:

• Number of videos produced
• Video length
• Consistency
• Quality of content
• Storytelling and presentation
• Voice and communication
• Audience engagement
• Overall value of the content
