Job summary

Chennai Chess Clubs is looking for a creative, detail-oriented individual to shape and maintain our visual presence across Instagram, YouTube, and our website. This is primarily a post-production and design role. You'll turn event footage into highlight reels, design congratulatory posts, and build creatives for our ads.

You’ll edit footage, design posters, write captions, and manage content calendars while helping grow an active chess community through consistent branding and engaging posts.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in video editing with CapCut, Premiere Pro, or similar tools.
• Strong eye for design; comfortable with Canva, Photoshop, or similar tools.
• Good understanding of Instagram and YouTube formats and trends.
• Familiarity with YouTube SEO basics (thumbnails, metadata) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage a content calendar.

Responsibilities

• Content Creation (Primary) – Edit footage into reels, shorts, and YouTube videos.
• Design posters, carousels, and graphics for events and promotions.
• Create congratulatory and milestone posts for students and achievements.
• Produce ad creatives for paid campaigns on Meta and other platforms.
• Optimize YouTube uploads: thumbnails, titles, descriptions, and tags.
• Maintain a consistent visual identity across all content and platforms.
• Social Media Management – Plan and schedule content on Instagram, YouTube, and others.
• Write captions and video descriptions; manage content calendars.
• Post regular updates to keep pages active and the community engaged.
• Respond to DMs and comments timely and friendly.
• Content Shooting (Secondary) – Occasional photo/video shoots during events.
• Coordinate simple shoots for content requirements.

Chennai Chess Clubs is a chess coaching and education company helping students of all levels, from beginners to competitive players, grow through structured, engaging learning. We're building an active community around the game, and we want our social media to reflect that energy.

About the Role

We're looking for a creative, detail-oriented individual to shape and maintain our visual presence across Instagram, YouTube, and our website. This is primarily a post-production and design role. You'll spend most of your time crafting polished content from existing footage and media, not behind a camera. Think: turning event footage into highlight reels, designing congratulatory posts, and building creatives for our ads.

What You'll Do

• Content Creation (Primary) – Edit video footage from events, sessions, and tournaments into engaging reels, shorts, and YouTube videos
• Design posters, carousels, and graphics for events, announcements, and promotions
• Create congratulatory and milestone posts for students and achievements
• Produce ad creatives (static and video) for paid campaigns on Meta and other platforms
• Optimise YouTube uploads: thumbnails, titles, descriptions, and tags
• Maintain a consistent visual identity across all content and platforms
• Social Media Management – Plan and schedule content on Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms
• Write captions, video descriptions, and manage content calendars
• Post regular updates to keep pages active and the community engaged
• Respond to DMs and comments in a timely, friendly manner
• Content Shooting (Secondary) – Occasionally shoot photos or videos during events or sessions when needed

What We’re Looking For

• Proficiency in video editing (CapCut, Premiere Pro, or similar)
• Strong eye for design; comfortable with Canva, Photoshop, or similar tools
• Good understanding of Instagram and YouTube: formats, trends, what performs well
• Familiarity with YouTube SEO basics (thumbnails, metadata) is a plus
• Ability to work independently and manage a content calendar
• Prior experience in social media content creation preferred
• Bonus if you care about education, or have good knowledge about chess

What This Role Is Not

This is not a heavy production or videography role. Shooting will be occasional. The bulk of the work is editing, designing, and managing what already exists.
