Job summary

MKS Inc. in India is seeking a Chemist to execute development activities in partnership with cross-functional teams within the R&D group. You will independently drive projects, propose technical strategies, and ensure high-quality execution aligned with objectives.

You will collaborate with team managers and other technical groups, interact with customers as needed for troubleshooting and on-site support, and contribute to ISO-compliant documentation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• MSc in Chemistry with 3+ years in R&D/industrial experience.
• Strong depth in organic, inorganic, and electrochemistry.
• Experience leading DoEs and experimental planning.
• Ability to analyze results and propose next steps.
• Good communication and collaboration.
• Self-motivated with ownership to drive tasks end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Operate electroplating lab and line-scale equipment.
• Conduct chemical, materials, and physical analysis in Lab.
• Analyze reports to extract actionable insights for projects.
• Plan projects and monitor execution of electroplating experiments.
• Create documents and reports following ISO norms.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment.
• Conduct advanced testing, qualification, and validation of products.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure project milestones.
• Document research activities and results.
• Communicate project status and risks to stakeholders.
• Ensure lab safety, 5S, and technical excellence.
• Lead customer troubleshooting and on-site technical support as needed.

• Equipment Maintenance and Calibration

Skills You Bring:

• MSc in Chemistry with 3+ years of relevant R&D/industrial experience.
• Strong technical depth in organic/inorganic/ electro-chemistry
• Demonstrated experience leading DoEs, experimental planning, and complex problem‑solving.
• Ability to analyze results, draw accurate conclusions, and propose scientifically sound next steps.
• Good communication, collaboration.
• Creative, structured, and methodical approach to technical challenges.
• High ownership, self‑motivation, and ability to drive tasks from concept to completion.

Preferred Skills: (Optional)

• Experience leading R&D projects.
• Strong background in performing lab testing.
• In‑depth understanding of structure–property relationships in organic and inorganic molecules.
• Strong Knowledge of Safety protocols to be followed in Labs.
• Hands‑on experience with customer technical support, troubleshooting, and application development.
