Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking a Chemist to drive R&D projects in the electroplating domain at the Gurugram facility. You will work with cross-functional teams, independently leading experiments, and delivering high-quality results aligned with ISO standards.

You will perform chemical, materials, and physical analyses, plan experiments, and troubleshoot customer issues onsite when required. Strong ownership and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• MSc in Chemistry with 3+ years of R&D/industrial experience.
• Strong technical depth in organic/inorganic/electro-chemistry.
• Demonstrated experience leading DoEs, experimental planning, and complex problem-solving.
• Ability to analyze results, draw accurate conclusions, and propose scientifically sound next steps.
• Good communication, collaboration.
• Creative, structured, and methodical approach to technical challenges.
• High ownership, self-motivation, and ability to drive tasks from concept to completion.

Responsibilities

• Operate Electroplating Lab and Line scale equipment.
• Conduct Chemical / Materials / Physical Analysis in Lab.
• Analyze reports to bring out effective information for Project.
• Plan projects and follow-up and control execution through electroplating experiments.
• Create documents, regulations and reports following ISO norms.
• Equipment Maintenance and Calibration.
• Conduct advanced testing, analysis, qualification, and validation of products with high technical rigor.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth project progression and milestone alignment.
• Document research activities, results, and conclusions according to prescribed formats.
• Drive proactive communication of project status, risks, and technical insights to stakeholders.
• Ensure best practices in lab operations, safety, 5S, and technical excellence.
• Lead customer troubleshooting, process optimization, and technical site visits as required.
