Job summary

Geo Cleaner is seeking a capable Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily lab operations, review reports, and ensure accurate analytical data. The role requires hands-on chemical analysis of materials, maintenance of SOPs, and mentoring junior staff in a shift-based lab environment.

You will ensure timely sampling, calibration planning, and compliance with ISO standards while coordinating troubleshooting with service providers. A strong emphasis on PPE and housekeeping is essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience with laboratory testing parameters such as pH, calorific value, ash content and moisture.
• Exposure to instruments like pH meter, Bomb Calorimeter, Karl Fischer Titrator, Oven, Muffle Furnace, Viscometer.
• Awareness of hazardous waste handling and basic lab safety/PPE compliance.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Supervise daily laboratory operations and ensure smooth workflow.
• Review and approve sample analysis reports before submission.
• Conduct complex chemical analysis of raw materials, and process samples.
• Verify compatibility testing and ensure accurate documentation.
• Ensure timely sampling and analysis of inward waste vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs, ISO standards, and statutory guidelines.
• Investigate abnormal test results and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain laboratory quality records and documentation.
• Plan and monitor calibration of laboratory instruments.
• Ensure preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Coordinate troubleshooting and repairs with service providers.
• Guide, mentor, and train Chemists and Laboratory Assistants.
• Allocate laboratory work among team members and monitor performance.
• Ensure proper PPE usage by laboratory personnel.
• Maintain housekeeping standards within the laboratory.
• Prepare and review laboratory reports, calibration logs, and compatibility reports.
• Follow the Safe Practice for Lab Operations.

Preferred candidate profile

• Working knowledge of basic testing parameters pH, Calorific Value, Ash/Charcoal content, Moisture (M/C)
• Hands-on exposure to instruments like pH meter, Bomb Calorimeter, Karl Fischer Titrator, Oven, Muffle Furnace, Viscometer
• Aware of hazardous waste handling practices and basic lab safety/PPE compliance
• Disciplined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working under supervision in a shift-based lab environment
