Job summary

SEGULA Technologies India in Chennai seeks a CAD/PLM engineer to create 3D CATIA V5 and 3DEXPERIENCE models, and to develop 2D GA drawings and annotations for vehicle programs.

You will perform DMU studies for packaging and clash checks, apply DFM/DFS, optimize weight, manage ECR/ECO/NPRs, and maintain BOM/PLM data in Windchill and SAP while collaborating with CAE, Manufacturing, and Production teams.

Qualifications

• Proficient in CATIA V5 and 3DEXPERIENCE for 3D modeling.
• Experience in 2D GA drawings and annotations.
• Perform DMU studies for packaging, clearance and clash detection.
• Apply DFM and DFS principles in product design.
• Coordinate with CAE, Manufacturing and Production teams.

Job description

Create 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE. Perform Digital Mock‑Up (DMU) studies for packaging, clearance, and clash analysis. Develop General Assembly (GA) drawings and 3D annotations. Conduct feasibility studies and benchmarking activities. Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Service (DFS) principles. Optimize component weight, cost, manufacturability, and structural performance. Support prototype builds and resolve vehicle integration issues. Coordinate with CAE, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Production teams. Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), NPRs, and design releases. Maintain BOM, CAD data, and PLM documentation using Windchill and SAP. Prepare SOPs, Add/Delete Lists, and Design Maturity Index (DMI) reports. Support design validation, testing, and issue resolution during vehicle builds.
