Job summary

Segula Technologies in Chennai, India is seeking a CAD engineer to deliver 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5 and 3DEXPERIENCE. You will perform DMU studies for packaging and clearance, develop GA drawings with 3D annotations, and apply DFM/DFS principles across vehicle programs.

You will coordinate with CAE, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Production teams; manage ECR/ECO and design releases; maintain BOM and PLM data in Windchill and SAP; and support design validation through

Qualifications

• Experience with CATIA V5 and PLM workflows.
• Hands-on DMU and validation for packaging and clearance.
• Ability to create GA drawings and 3D annotations.
• Knowledge of BOM management and ECR/ECO processes.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Perform Digital Mock-Up (DMU) studies for packaging, clearance, and clash analysis.
• Develop General Assembly (GA) drawings and 3D annotations.
• Conduct feasibility studies and benchmarking activities.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Service (DFS) principles.
• Optimize component weight, cost, manufacturability, and structural performance.
• Support prototype builds and resolve vehicle integration issues.
• Coordinate with CAE, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Production teams.
• Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), NPRs, and design releases.
• Maintain BOM, CAD data, and PLM documentation using Windchill and SAP.
• Prepare SOPs, Add/Delete Lists, and Design Maturity Index (DMI) reports.
• Support design validation, testing, and issue resolution during vehicle builds.
