Qualifications

• GNM/B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration with the Medical Nursing Council.
• Experience in Cath Lab / ICU / CCU preferred.
• Knowledge of cardiac procedures and emergency management.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for cardiac procedures, verify identity, consent, medical history and reports.
• Prepare and check cathlab equipment, instruments, emergency drugs and consumables.
• Assist cardiologists during coronary angiography, angioplasty (PCI) and other cardiac procedures.
• Monitor ECG, vital signs and patient condition during procedures.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Assist in managing cardiac emergencies and complications.
• Provide post-procedure care and site assessment.
• Maintain nursing documentation and handover processes.
• Follow radiation safety guidelines and hospital policies.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare patients for cardiac procedures, verify patient identity, consent, medical history, and investigation reports.
• Prepare and check cathlab equipment, instruments, emergency drugs, and consumables.
• Assist cardiologists during coronary angiography, angioplasty (PCI) and other cardiac procedures.
• Monitor ECG, vital signs, oxygen saturation, and the patient's clinical condition throughout the procedure.
• Maintain strict aseptic techniques and follow infection control protocols.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions and complications.
• Assist in managing cardiac emergencies, arrhythmias, cardiac arrest, and other procedural complications.
• Provide post-procedure care, monitor vascular access sites, assess distal circulation, and identify bleeding or hematoma.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and ensure proper patient handover and transfer.
• Follow radiation safety guidelines, patient safety standards, and hospital policies.
