Job summary

Ujjivan Small Finance Bank is seeking a cashier at the branch to handle daily cash transactions and related duties. You will process receipts, disburse cash, and update registers, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with bank guidelines.

You will interact with customers, answer questions, and support EMI collections and deposits. The role requires 1–2 years of cash handling experience and basic computer skills, in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• UG graduation in Finance or Commerce preferred.
• 1–2 years of cash handling experience in high-volume environment.
• Experience entering data in financial modules/ERP systems.
• Experience consolidating accounting data.
• Cash handling and accounting skills required.
• Keen eye for accuracy and integrity of cash records.

Responsibilities

• Process daily cash transactions and maintain registers accurately.
• Handle cash receipts/withdrawals up to authorized limits and record in the system.
• Disburse cash against withdrawal requests and collect EMI repayments.
• Maintain cash, petty cash, and asset registers; ensure daily reconciliation.
• Interact with customers and communicate product information; cross-sell where appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures for cashier operations.

ROLE PURPOSE OBJECTIVE

Thisrole is responsible for executing all cash related transactionsand operations for the Branch as per internal / external bankingguidelines and manage appropriate entries in relevantregisters/online; perform end of day reconciliation in the system

KEYDUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

Business

• Contributeto the efficient operation of the Branch through accurate andtimely processing of cash related transactions and accountmaintenance.
• Takeoverall responsibility for cash handling function of the Branchsuch as:
  • Receiptand processing of cheque, drafts, dividend warrants, pay ordersand other like instruments other than bills for withdrawals upto authorized limits and giving acknowledgements in thecounterfoil
  • Disbursecash against withdrawals requests and collect cash againstdeposit challan
  • Collectrepayments as per EMI schedule; maintain necessary entries insystem
• Maintaininward and outward register, petty cash register, assets registerand send requisition forms to Regional Head Office
• Performtallying of cash in line with book of transactions and voucherson a daily basis; and report the same in ''End of Day'' Branchreport
• Beaccountable for handling of cash and operation maintenanceof Branch vault jointly with the operations officer
• Interactwith customers during disbursements and deposits, understandtheir requirements and identify opportunities to cross sell;update the customers on new products and services offered byUjjivan

• Countcheck cash at the beginning day end before vaulting
• HoldBranchs cash, keys and/or other valuables in safe custodyjointly with Assistant Branch manager and being responsible forthe running of the cash department smoothly
• Responsiblefor adherence to defined TAT for all transactions
• Responsiblefor compliance with all applicable regulations and bank policiesfor all processes related to cashier operations and cashmanagement
• Accountingand verifying the transaction for loan repayment
• Validatethe authenticity of customers while cash withdrawal
• Checkthe accuracy of the cash deposit slips as per audit requirements
• Bankpass book updation in case of any transaction
• Processcash bundles for currency chest deposit with note slips
