Job description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Manager of Capex & Project Procurement to lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for capital expenditures and new plant installations. Based out of our Bangalore office, you will play a critical role in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring high-value machinery, plant equipment, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services. The ideal candidate will bring deep domain expertise from the edible oil refinery sector, ensuring our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing & Capex Procurement
   • Lead the procurement of critical edible oil refinery equipment, including solvent extraction plants, continuous/batch refining systems (neutralization, bleaching, and deodorization units), decorticators, and heat exchangers.
   • Develop and execute comprehensive Capex procurement strategies to support plant capacity expansions, greenfield setups, and brownfield modifications.
   • Procure specialized supporting infrastructure such as thermic fluid boilers, cooling towers, pressure leaf filters, vacuum equipment, and automated packaging lines.
2. Evaluate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), conduct ROI analysis, and manage the procurement budget for all heavy machinery and capital investments.
3. Contracting & Vendor Management
   • Identify, vet, and onboard specialized domestic and international OEMs, contractors, and technology licensors operating in the edible oil processing industry.
   • Lead end-to-end commercial negotiations for EPC contracts, Turnkey projects, and equipment supply agreements, securing favourable pricing, payment terms, warranties, and performance guarantees.
   • Establish stringent vendor performance metrics to evaluate quality, delivery timelines and other SLAs.
4. Project Execution & Cross-Functional Alignment
   • Collaborate closely with internal Engineering, Projects, and Operations teams.
   • Align procurement schedules with overall project timelines, tracking equipment manufacturing progress and ensuring seamless on-site delivery and installation.
   • Drive cost-saving initiatives, value engineering, and alternative sourcing strategies without compromising plant efficiency, safety, or sanitary standards.
   • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to regulatory compliance, import/customs regulations, and environmental standards relevant to food and beverage manufacturing.

Industry Preference

Direct experience procuring machinery and executing capital projects within the **Edible Oil Refinery**, Agri-processing, or closely related FMCG sectors is highly preferred.
