Qualifications

Job description

1. Job Purpose

To lead the maintenance team in ensuring uninterrupted operation, reliability and safety of plant utilities, electrical systems, assembly line equipment and facility infrastructure. The role is responsible for preventive and breakdown maintenance, energy optimisation, statutory compliance, and maintenance planning through the SAP PM module, while driving minimum downtime and a strong safety culture.

2. Key Responsibilities

2.1 Utilities & Facility Maintenance

• Operate and maintain utilities including chillers, DG sets, fire pumps, AHUs, compressors and related systems.
• Attend to and resolve chiller and other utility breakdowns promptly; carry out root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure operation and maintenance of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in line with statutory and pollution control norms.
• Maintain lifts, UPS systems and forklifts, ensuring periodic servicing, AMC coordination and statutory certifications.
• Maintain the fire pump and fire-fighting systems in ready condition; coordinate periodic testing and mock drills.

2.2 Electrical Systems Maintenance

• Maintain and monitor HT/LT electrical infrastructure: transformers, VCB, LT panels, MCC and distribution panels.
• Carry out electrical connections, wiring, cable laying, termination and panel maintenance in compliance with safety standards.
• Plan and execute thermography, earthing checks, relay testing and other periodic electrical inspections.
• Ensure uninterrupted power supply and swift restoration during power failures.

2.3 Assembly Line Maintenance

• Ensure preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of assembly line machines and equipment.
• Minimise breakdown time (MTTR) and improve equipment reliability (MTBF).
• Coordinate with Production for planned shutdowns and maintenance windows.
• Manage critical spares inventory in coordination with Stores.

2.4 Energy Management

• Identify, implement and monitor energy saving devices and initiatives (VFDs, energy-efficient motors, LED lighting, power factor correction, etc.).
• Track energy consumption, analyse deviations and propose improvement projects with cost-benefit analysis.

2.5 SAP PM & Maintenance Planning

• Create and manage maintenance plans, work orders, notifications and breakdown records in the SAP PM module.
• Ensure timely closure of PM schedules and maintain equipment history and documentation.
• Prepare MIS reports: breakdown analysis, PM compliance, spares consumption and maintenance cost.

3. Qualification & Experience

Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (or Mechanical with strong electrical exposure).

Experience: 810 years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant, with at least 2-3 years in a team-handling role.

4. Technical Skills
