As a Buying Professional, you will play a critical role in supporting Siemens Energy's Power Transformer Manufacturing business by driving strategic procurement and supplier management activities. You will be responsible for developing and strengthening the supply chain ecosystem, ensuring the timely availability of goods and services, optimizing costs, and maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, IT, and EHS to ensure procurement strategies are aligned with business objectives. You will lead supplier qualification, contract negotiations, performance management, and risk mitigation initiatives while supporting manufacturing growth and operational excellence. We are looking for a procurement professional with strong industry expertise in electrical equipment and transformer manufacturing, who can combine strategic sourcing capabilities with commercial acumen to deliver sustainable value for the organization.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Develop and strengthen the local and regional supply chain network by identifying, qualifying, and onboarding suppliers to support the Power Transformer manufacturing business.
• Drive strategic sourcing initiatives for both direct and indirect procurement categories, ensuring optimum supplier selection, cost competitiveness, and supply continuity.
• Negotiate and manage contracts, statements of work, service agreements, and commercial terms in collaboration with legal and business stakeholders.
• Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics related to quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness, driving continuous improvement and risk mitigation plans.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, IT, and EHS teams to define procurement requirements and ensure timely project execution.
• Support manufacturing growth and product ramp-up activities by developing sourcing strategies, leveraging corporate agreements, and conducting total cost of ownership analyses.
• Implement and standardize procurement processes while ensuring data accuracy and process compliance within ERP and e-procurement platforms.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, delegation of authority frameworks, competitive bidding requirements, and audit expectations.
• Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining supply continuity, identifying procurement risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to operational excellence by fostering supplier partnerships, enhancing procurement efficiency, and supporting long-term business objectives.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 12 to 15 years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain management, or project management roles within the electrical equipment industry.
• Strong exposure to procurement and sourcing of major electrical commodities, preferably within the Power Transformer industry.
• Proven experience in supplier development, supplier qualification processes, quality management systems, and supply risk assessment methodologies.
• Strong negotiation, commercial evaluation, and contract management capabilities with demonstrated success in managing complex procurement engagements.
• Sound knowledge of supply chain management principles, strategic sourcing methodologies, and supplier performance management practices.
• Experience working with ERP and procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with a strong focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence diverse teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing and project‑driven environment.
• Strong leadership mindset, ownership, and commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
