Job summary

Innomotics is seeking a Buying Professional to join its SCM team in Mumbai. You will develop commodity strategies, standardize procurement processes, monitor markets, and collaborate with internal customers to secure reliable, on-time material supply.

The role requires a mechanical or electrical engineering degree and 8–12 years of industrial SCM/procurement experience, with a focus on achieving cost savings and strong supplier management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or Electrical.
• Industrial experience in SCM / Procurement (8–12 years).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commodity strategies for long-term, cost-efficient supply of materials.
• Standardize and ensure usage of globally defined methods, processes and systems (P2P, procurement guidelines, IT systems).
• Monitor worldwide markets to shape the optimum sourcing strategy and select the best suppliers.
• Define and implement procurement strategies based on demand, market and supplier analysis.
• Lead negotiations for medium to high purchasing volumes to achieve savings.
• Generate and report savings and KPI data (PPC/MCP/VAM) for transparency.
• Support supplier management processes (qualification, selection, evaluation, development).
• Collaborate with internal customers to ensure early involvement and customer care.

Your Future Role

1. Commodity strategies Implement Commodity strategies to ensure long-term, cost-eƯicient supply of materials
2. Standardization Implement and ensure usage of globally defined methods, processes and systems to ensure high process eƯiciency and process compliance (e.g. compliant Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process, Procurement guidelines, IT systems)
3. Monitor the markets worldwide to create a basis for deciding the optimum sourcing strategy and cooperate with the best suppliers
4. Procurement strategies Define and implement Procurement strategies (which are not covered by Commodity strategies) based on conducted demand, market and supplier analysis to ensure long-term, reliable on-time supply of materials in the required quality
5. Negotiations Prepare and conduct negotiations for medium to high Purchasing Volumes to obtain highest feasible savings
6. Savings and relevant KPI Generate, document and implement savings, e.g. CNI (PPC/MCP/VAM); plan, monitor and report on relevant KPI to contribute to the success of the business and make results transparent
7. Supplier Management Support Supplier Management processes (e.g. qualification, selection, evaluation, development, classification); update supplier evaluation systems to obtain and develop the best suppliers and ensure transparency
8. Customer Interface Ensure a close cooperation with Internal Customers (requisitioners) to ensure customers care and early involvement

Your Profile

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
• Industrial Experience in SCM // Procurement ~ 8 to 12 years
