Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. seeks a seasoned Sourcing & Procurement leader to drive strategic sourcing for EV chargers, wall-mounted units, and related infrastructure in Mumbai.

You will analyze market trends, onboard suppliers, and build long-term partnerships to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. You will collaborate with Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Legal teams to align sourcing with product development, compliance, and ESG goals, while ensuring timely supplier onboarding and risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; MBA preferred.
• 5+ years in strategic sourcing or procurement in EV/automotive/electronics.
• Strong knowledge of EV charging tech and market dynamics.
• Proven track record in supplier negotiations and cost reduction.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in AI, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Familiarity with government EV policies and incentives.
• Technical understanding of power electronics and charging protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for EV chargers and related infrastructure.
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost drivers to ensure competitive advantage.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for Master supplier panel.
• Build long-term partnerships with key suppliers to ensure quality, innovation, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews.
• Lead commercial negotiations to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
• Drive total cost of ownership improvements through value engineering and alternative sourcing.
• Coordinate with Legal to get contracts signed (DSAs, NDAs, SLAs).
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks (geopolitical, environmental, logistical).
• Ensure sourcing aligns with ESG goals and regulatory standards.

Job description

• Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements through value engineering and alternative sourcing.
• Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Legal teams to align sourcing strategies with product development and compliance requirements.
• Support on time launches by ensuring timely sourcing of components / Vendor on board.
• Coordinate with Legal Department to get suppliers to sign contracts such as DSA , NDAs, and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, environmental, and logistical factors.
• Sustainability & Compliance:
• Ensure sourcing practices align with ESG goals and regulatory standards .
• Promote sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.

Education Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, ( Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical ) Supply Chain, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).

General Experience

5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, preferably in EV, automotive, or electronics sectors

Critical Experience

• Strong knowledge of EV charging technologies, standards (e.g., CCS, CHAdeMO), and market dynamics.
• Proven track record in supplier negotiations, cost reduction, and contract management.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in AI , PPT , Excel etc .
• Familiarity with government policies and incentives related to EV infrastructure.
• Technical understanding of power electronics and charging protocols.
