Job summary

Samridhi in Mumbai seeks a seasoned Finance Analyst to lead financial reporting, MIS, and business performance reviews. You will ensure ledger accuracy, drive month-end closures, and strengthen internal controls while partnering with business heads to enhance margins and cash flow.

You will coordinate with branches, vendors, IT, and finance teams to deliver dashboards, manage accruals and GST compliance, and provide management with insightful financial analysis and reports.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, MIS and financial analysis.
• Experience in general ledger reconciliation and month-end closing.
• Knowledge of SAP and CargoWise (CW) preferred.
• Understanding of GST, vendor payments, accruals and working capital management.
• Good analytical, communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and preparation of management reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial and business performance reports across branches/products/customers/sales channels.
• Ensure timely month-end and quarter-end closings; review revenue, expenses, accruals and WIP.
• Perform reconciliations between systems (e.g., CW and SAP) and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Manage accounting activities for branches; ensure timely postings and vendor payments.
• Review accruals, coordinate with business heads for accurate accounting, resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly business reviews and financial dashboards; analyze revenue and volumes vs budget.
• Collaborate with business, branch finance, accounts payable and IT to improve reporting accuracy and controls.

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & MIS

• Prepare monthly financial and business performance reports.
• Analyse branch-wise, product-wise, customer-wise, and salesperson-wise revenue and margins.
• Prepare volume, revenue, profitability, and budget-versus-actual reports.
• Monitor open jobs and pending financial closures.
• Identify performance trends and variances and share insights with management.

2. Month-End & Quarter-End Closing

• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and quarter-end financial closure.
• Review revenue, expenses, accruals, and work-in-progress (WIP).
• Review and reverse unnecessary accruals and cost provisions.
• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve pending accounting entries.

3. General Ledger Reconciliation & Financial Controls

• Perform reconciliations between CargoWise and SAP for revenue, expenses, payables, accruals, and WIP.
• Investigate reconciliation differences and ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinate with IT and integration teams to resolve invoice and accounting discrepancies.
• Maintain supporting documentation for internal and statutory audits.

4. Branch Accounting & Accounts Payable

• Manage accounting activities for assigned branches.
• Ensure timely posting of accruals, receipts, and payment requisitions.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and clear outstanding debit balances.
• Review GST discrepancies, including amounts not reflected in GSTR-2B.
• Ensure timely processing of vendor payments, including MSME payments, in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Monitor vendor advances and prepare vendor ageing reports.

5. Accruals & Compliance

• Review and validate accruals based on business requirements and supporting documents.
• Coordinate with business heads and finance teams to ensure accurate accounting.
• Ensure appropriate accounting treatment and timely resolution of discrepancies.

6. Business Review & Management Reporting

• Prepare monthly business review presentations and financial dashboards.
• Analyse month-to-date revenue and volumes against budget and actual performance.
• Prepare quarterly performance reports, including year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter comparisons.
• Analyse top customer and product performance.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of reports to management.

7. Business Partnering & Process Improvement

• Coordinate with business, branch finance, accounts payable, and IT teams.
• Provide insights on customer profitability, product performance, revenue, and margins.
• Improve reporting accuracy, reconciliation processes, and financial controls.
• Support management with financial analysis and other business reporting requirements.

Preferred candidate profile
