Job summary

Choice International is seeking an experienced Business Development Lead Water Resources to drive strategic growth across domestic and international markets. The role requires combining business development, advisory expertise, technical understanding and thought leadership to identify opportunities and position the firm as a preferred consulting partner.

You will lead BD initiatives in water resources, track policies and funding, build government and partner relationships, and oversee EOIs,

Qualifications

  • 12+ years in BD, Advisory or Management Consulting within Water Resources.
  • Strong understanding of irrigation, river basin management, watershed development, flood management, hydrology, water security and climate-resilient infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in opportunity identification, client engagement, proposal management and strategic consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of government programmes such as PMKSY, Atal Bhujal Yojana, DRIP and river rejuvenation initiatives.
  • Strong network with government departments, PSUs, development partners, funding agencies and infrastructure stakeholders.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, stakeholder management and networking skills.
  • Dynamic, proactive and market-oriented with strategic thinking and technical appreciation of Water Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Drive business development initiatives across the Water Resources sector by identifying and pursuing opportunities with Central & State Governments, PSUs, Multilateral Agencies and Development Partners.
  • Identify emerging opportunities by tracking policies, funding programmes, technologies, investments and market trends in water resources, irrigation, river basin management and climate resilience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders, clients, funding agencies and strategic partners.
  • Lead the preparation of EOIs, RFPs, proposals, technical presentations and client pitches in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Work closely with the Sector Head to develop market-entry strategies, key-account plans and business growth initiatives.
  • Develop thought leadership through white papers, technical publications, knowledge notes, market intelligence reports and industry presentations.
  • Build professional visibility and thought leadership through LinkedIn and other relevant social media platforms.
  • Represent the organization at industry forums, conferences, client meetings and networking platforms.
  • Support strategic partnerships, collaborations and consortiums for large infrastructure consulting opportunities.
  • Promote innovation, knowledge management and continuous improvement within the Water Resources practice.

About the Role

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in opportunity identification, client engagement, proposal management and strategic consulting.

  • Strong network and experience in engaging with Government departments, PSUs, development partners, funding agencies and infrastructure stakeholders.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, stakeholder management and networking skills.
  • Dynamic, proactive and market-oriented professional with strong strategic thinking and technical appreciation of the Water Resources sector.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple opportunities and collaborate effectively with technical and leadership teams.
