Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and target-driven Business Development Executive with 1–2 years of experience to drive sales growth for our Low Voltage (LT) electrical and automation portfolio. The role focuses on promoting and selling Switchgears, Controlgears, HMIs, PLCs, VFDs, and LT panel accessories to Panel Builders, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), System Integrators, Industrial End-Users, and contractors. The ideal candidate will combine technical understanding with strong commercial acumen to generate leads, conduct product presentations, build client relationships, and achieve revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
1. Lead Generation & Market Expansion
- Identify, target, and onboard new clients, including LT Panel Builders, Industrial OEMs, Machine Builders, System Integrators, and Electrical Contractors.
- Conduct market research to identify upcoming industrial projects, panel manufacturing expansions, and automation retrofitting opportunities in the assigned territory.
- Perform cold calling, site visits, and direct prospective client meetings to build a healthy sales pipeline.
2. Product Promotion & Solution Selling
- Promote and market the full range of product offerings:
- Switchgears & Controlgears: MCBs, MCCBs, ACB, Contactors, Overload Relays, MPCB, Isolators, and Changeover Switches.
- Automation Products: PLCs, HMIs, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and Servo Drives.
- LT Accessories: Push buttons, Indicating lamps, Terminal blocks, Cable glands, Timers, Counters, and Digital Panel Meters.
- Pitch product value propositions, technical advantages, and cost-effective alternatives tailored to client requirements.
3. Client Account Management
- Maintain regular follow-ups and strong relationships with existing panel builders and OEMs to ensure repeat orders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical sales inquiries, product specifications, and stock availability.
- Understand customer panel designs and suggest optimal product bill of materials (BOMs).
4. Commercial & Technical Coordination
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate formal commercial quotations and proposals based on client inquiries.
- Coordinate with internal application/technical support teams to resolve customer technical queries and select appropriate VFD/PLC models for specific applications.
- Follow up on pending purchase orders (POs), order confirmations, delivery schedules, and payment collections in alignment with company credit policies.
5. Reporting & Market Intelligence
- Maintain accurate daily call reports, client visit logs, and pipeline status in the CRM software.
- Gather feedback on competitor pricing, product schemes, new product launches, and market trends to update management.
Required Qualifications & Key Skills
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, or EEE.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of proven B2B field sales/business development experience in industrial electrical, switchgear, or automation products.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of low-voltage switchgear operations, motor control concepts, and automation architectures (PLC/HMI/VFD applications).
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in local language and basic English.
- Negotiation & Sales Pitching: Strong presentation skills and ability to handle client objections effectively.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned regional territory (a valid two-wheeler/four-wheeler driver's license is required).
- Software: Basic working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
- Revenue Target: Quarterly and annual sales target achievement.
- New Account Acquisition: Number of new active Panel Builders/OEMs/System Integrators onboarded monthly.
- Client Visits: Minimum required client meetings/field visits per week.
- Pipeline Management: Value of active opportunities and proposal conversion rate.
- Receivables: Timely collection of payments as per agreed credit terms.
