Job summary

Mployee.me in Bengaluru, Karnataka, is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to own end-to-end analysis across discovery to production. You will partner with stakeholders, product, and delivery teams to translate complex problems into actionable requirements and well-groomed backlogs.

You will drive workshops, create use cases and acceptance criteria, and ensure traceability and quality through testing and deployment, while coordinating across globally distributed teams.

Key Responsibilities: Business Systems Analysis & Agile Delivery

• Independently lead discovery and requirement workshops with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, product owners, developers, architects, data teams, and quality assurance teams.
• Understand business problems, objectives, processes, data needs, and user outcomes, and translate them into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
• Create and maintain business requirements, functional specifications, process and data flows, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, decision logs, and requirements traceability.
• Break down complex requirements into clear, prioritised, and delivery-ready user stories, ensuring that business value, scope, assumptions, dependencies, and acceptance criteria are understood before commitment.
• Partner with the Product Owner and delivery team to maintain a healthy, prioritised, and sufficiently refined product backlog.
• Perform impact, feasibility, gap, dependency, and data analysis for new capabilities, enhancements, defects, and change requests.
• Lead requirement walkthroughs and provide functional clarification throughout design, development, testing, and implementation.
• Support delivery planning and team discussions to establish realistic goals and a shared understanding of expected outcomes.
• Track progress, decisions, risks, blockers, dependencies, and actions, proactively coordinating resolution and escalating matters that may affect delivery.
• Manage requirement questions and controlled changes during delivery while maintaining scope clarity and minimizing disruption.
• Plan and support system testing, business validation, and user acceptance testing, including test scenarios, test data, defect triage, evidence, sign-off, and deployment readiness.
• Coordinate business reviews and solution demonstrations, capture stakeholder feedback, and translate agreed changes into prioritized requirements.
• Maintain solution documentation and support the controlled transition into production, including user communication, training, change management, and post-release validation.
• Use delivery insights and stakeholder feedback to improve requirement quality, delivery flow, predictability, and ways of working.

Independent Project Ownership

• Take end-to-end functional ownership of small to medium initiatives, or a clearly defined workstream within a larger programme, with limited supervision.
• Build and maintain a delivery view covering scope, milestones, backlog readiness, dependencies, risks, decisions, testing, stakeholder actions, and implementation readiness.
• Coordinate across globally distributed and matrixed teams, ensuring that the right stakeholders are engaged at the right stage.
• Identify ambiguity early, present options and recommendations, drive timely decisions, and document agreed outcomes.
• Balance business value, user needs, data availability, technical feasibility, quality, and delivery timelines when recommending an approach.
• Provide concise, fact-based status updates to project leadership and stakeholders, including progress, risks, decisions required, and proposed next steps.
• Contribute reusable templates, standards, frameworks, and lessons learned to strengthen Business Analysis and Agile delivery practices.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, technology implementation, or a closely related role.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing requirements and functional delivery across the full lifecycle, from discovery through production implementation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Agile and Scrum delivery, including backlog refinement, user story development, acceptance criteria, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and impediment or dependency tracking.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, architects, data teams, and quality assurance teams in a cross-functional environment.
• Experience creating functional documentation, process and data flows, requirements traceability, test scenarios, and user acceptance testing plans.
• Experience with common work management and documentation tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira and Confluence or equivalent platforms.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams and managing multiple priorities in a complex, matrixed environment.
