Job summary

UTTAM in Jaipur (Raj) seeks a Mechanical Engineer to ensure BOM accuracy, coordinate with Design and Manufacturing teams, and implement engineering changes. The role requires BOM review experience, proficiency with AutoCAD/SolidWorks, and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement in transformer manufacturing.

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years (B.Tech) or 5 years (Diploma) in transformer manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in BOM preparation/review, engineering drawings (AutoCAD/SolidWorks), QC & Production.

Responsibilities

• Ensure BOM accuracy and coordinate with design engineers for corrections.
• Maintain engineering change control and revision history.
• Collect data from shop floor to update designs and standards.
• Prepare standard manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Optimize BOMs to reduce manufacturing costs.
• Ensure compliance with IS, IEC & IEEE standards and customer specs.

Main Purpose of the Job

To ensure the accuracy and integrity of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documents through effective coordination with Design and Manufacturing teams, implementation of engineering changes, revision control, material standardization, and preparation of standard drawings for efficient and error-free transformer manufacturing.

Key Activities

1. Review released BOMs, identify discrepancies, and coordinate with Design Engineers for timely corrections.
2. Study and follow IS, IEC & IEEE Standards, SOPs, and customer specifications.
3. Verify BOM accuracy with design drawings and production requirements.
4. Collect manufacturing and testing data and improvement suggestions from the shop floor to update design documents and standards.
5. BOM optimization to reduce manufacturing cost.
6. Support cost optimization through material standardization.
7. Prepare and update standard manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
8. Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements in BOMs, drawings, and manufacturing practices.

Experience & Qualifications

Qualification (Must/Desirable):

Qualification: B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience for B. Tech. and Minimum 5 years’ experience for Diploma in the Transformer Manufacturing Industry, with hands-on experience in BOM preparation / review, engineering drawings (AutoCAD/SolidWorks), QC & Production.
