Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site BIW Fixture Design Engineer role based in Pune City. The BIW Fixture Design Engineer will design and develop BIW (Body‑in‑White) fixtures for automotive and related applications, including concept creation, 3D modeling, and detailing of welding and assembly fixtures. Responsibilities include collaborating with mechanical and automation teams, preparing CAD models and drawings, performing design reviews, and ensuring manufacturability, safety, and quality standards. The role involves coordinating with cross‑functional stakeholders, updating documentation, and providing design support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept to installation and validation. The engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support robot simulation and layout planning activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to BIW fixture design.
• Proficiency in Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) tools relevant to fixture and tooling design (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Understanding of Product Design processes, including concept development, 3D modeling, detailing, and design for manufacturability.
• Basic awareness of Electrical Engineering aspects related to automated fixtures and integration with robotic and control systems.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in BIW fixtures, welding fixtures, or automotive tooling design is highly beneficial.
• Ability to interpret customer specifications, standards, and GD&T, with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Effective communication skills, collaborative working style, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
