Qualifications

About This Role

Design and build scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and database architectures that power our multi-tenant SaaS platforms serving thousands of users across healthcare, education, and logistics.

A Day in the Life

Morning standup, then you dive into building a new API endpoint for the school management platform. You design the database schema, write the Spring Boot controller, add validation and error handling, write Swagger docs, and push a PR — all before the afternoon code review session.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop RESTful APIs using Spring Boot (Java) or NestJS (Node.js)
• Create and optimize database schemas in PostgreSQL with proper indexing and constraints
• Implement JWT authentication, role-based access control (RBAC), and API security
• Write Swagger/OpenAPI documentation for all endpoints
• Handle caching with Redis, background jobs, and event-driven patterns
• Write unit tests (JUnit/Jest) and integration tests for API endpoints
• Participate in database design reviews and system architecture discussions

What We're Looking For

• Strong knowledge of Java (Spring Boot) or Node.js (Express/NestJS)
• Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL queries, joins, and indexing
• Familiarity with REST API design principles (status codes, pagination, error handling)
• Basic understanding of data structures, algorithms, and time complexity
• Comfort with Git workflows (feature branches, pull requests, merge conflicts)

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker and containerization
• Knowledge of Redis, RabbitMQ, or message queues
• Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda)
• Understanding of microservices vs monolith tradeoffs
• Experience with GraphQL
