Job summary

Recro in Bengaluru is seeking a backend engineer to design, develop, and deploy scalable microservices in Go, Java, or Rust. You will build event-driven architectures using Kafka, gRPC, and REST APIs, and optimize latency for high-concurrency traffic.

You will own SDLC across architecture, reviews, CI/CD, and production observability while collaborating with Product, QA, DevOps, and Design to translate complex requirements into solid implementations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on production experience in Go, Java, or Rust (1.5–3.5 years).
• Experience with Microservices, Distributed Systems, and Event-Driven Architecture (Kafka / SQS).
• Strong concurrency understanding (Goroutines, channels, worker pools) and OOP/DDD patterns.
• Practical PostgreSQL or MySQL experience; Redis for caching.
• Fluent RESTful API design and gRPC inter-service communication.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and perform code reviews.

Job description

• Architect & Scale: Design, develop, and deploy scalable, reliable, and high-performance microservices using Go, Java, or Rust.
• System Design & Event-Driven Systems: Build robust event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka, gRPC, and RESTful APIs behind API Gateways.
• Performance Tuning: Profile systems (e.g., Go pprof, connection pooling, indexing) to reduce API latency and handle high-concurrency traffic.
• Database Optimization: Work extensively with relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (Redis/MongoDB) databases, optimizing complex queries, schema design, and caching layers.
• End-to-End Ownership: Take full ownership of services across the entire SDLC—from initial architecture design and code reviews to CI/CD deployment and production observability (Prometheus/Grafana/CloudWatch).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with Product, QA, DevOps, and Design teams to translate business and platform requirements into solid technical implementations.

Ideal Candidate Profile (ICP) / Requirements

Must-Haves:

• Experience: 1.5 to 3.5 years of hands-on production experience in Go (Golang), Java, or Rust.
• Architecture: Hands-on experience with Microservices, Distributed Systems, and Event-Driven Architecture (Kafka / SQS).
• Concurrency & Deep Fundamentals: Strong understanding of concurrency patterns (e.g., Go Goroutines & Channels, worker pools, multi-threading) and OOP/Domain-Driven design patterns.
• Databases & Caching: Practical expertise in PostgreSQL or MySQL, query optimization, compound indexing, and caching mechanisms like Redis.
• APIs & Protocols: Strong fluency in designing RESTful APIs and gRPC inter-service communication.
• Engineering Standards: Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code, establish coding standards, and conduct rigorous code reviews.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Prior experience in e-commerce, fintech, pricing engines, or logistics platforms.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, AWS infrastructure, and observability tools (Prometheus/Grafana/CloudWatch).
• Solved 200+ problems on LeetCode/GFG demonstrating solid DSA and system design fundamentals.
