Job summary

Datability Technologies is seeking a Backend Engineer who thrives on learning and contributing to existing systems that scale. You’ll design, ship, and own backend services powering high-traffic apps, collaborating with product, frontend, and DevOps to turn ambiguous problems into reliable systems.

You will design scalable backend services with Node.js/TypeScript, own microservices, optimize MySQL queries, and operate containerised apps using Docker and Kubernetes.

You’ll collaborate closely with product, frontend, DevOps, and stakeholders to turn ambiguous problems into reliable, performant systems.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js / TypeScript, with solid working knowledge of Golang and/or Python
• Own microservices and distributed systems that handle real production load
• Design and optimize MySQL schemas, queries, and data access patterns
• Learn on the job to ship and operate containerised applications with Docker and Kubernetes. Prior knowledge is a plus.
• Have the opportunity to build event-driven architectures using Kafka and/or RabbitMQ. Prior knowledge is a plus.

What You Bring

1. Core Engineering Strength

• Strong fundamentals in OOP, design patterns and command over node JS.
• Deep understanding of concurrency and async programming.
• Solid grasp of networking, HTTP, caching, and API design
• Comfortable with testing strategies (unit, integration, e2e) and debugging complex systems
• Experience with Agile and the full software development lifecycle

2. Primary Stack

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Working knowledge of Golang and/or Python is a plus
• Solid MySQL experience (schema design, query optimization, indexing)
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs and microservices
