Leadership Hiring for Genpact India - Banking & Financial Services, LDT

Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Vice President, Underwriting.

In this role, you will be responsible for the entire Underwriting service delivery for a leading insurance provider. You will function as an operating leader, partnering with the client’s Underwriting CFO, and deliver pre-issuance UW services (rating, quoting, binders) and post-issuance services (policy issuance, endorsements, cancellations).

Your role will overlay existing domain specialists in insurance underwriting, focusing on operational rigor for a first-time outsourcer, adding value through process and people management skills.

You will be expected to complement BPO delivery with transformation initiatives in Underwriting, driving efficiency and partnering with internal RPA and Six Sigma teams.

Responsibilities

1. Deliver SLAs and KPIs across end-to-end underwriting portfolios for three US geographies without onshore staff.
2. Manage approximately 200 staff in a niche, complex area covering underwriting issuance and post-issuance processes.
3. Ensure a stable operating model during renewal periods, demonstrating agility, client handling expertise, and people management skills.
4. Drive transformation and standardization across geographies to create a Center of Excellence.
5. Act as the primary contact for the client’s underwriting center of excellence in India.
6. Deliver operational excellence with zero surprises, especially during renewal cycles.
7. Collaborate with transformation teams to enhance efficiency and implement digital initiatives.
8. Mentor underwriting professionals and support their career development.
