Job summary

Kumaran Systems is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Java, Selenium, and Playwright in Chennai. The role focuses on building robust frameworks, executing comprehensive test plans, and ensuring strong test coverage in an Agile environment.

You will collaborate with developers, BA and QA teams, participate in sprint ceremonies, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on automation testing experience.
• Strong programming skills in Java with test automation focus.
• Hands-on Selenium WebDriver and Playwright experience.
• Experience with TestNG/JUnit and build tools like Maven/Gradle.
• Web tech knowledge: HTML, CSS, JavaScript; API testing using REST/SOAP.
• SQL/database validation and version control (Git).
• Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins).
• Understanding of test automation framework design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, and Playwright.
• Build and enhance automation frameworks based on project requirements.
• Create and execute functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end test cases.
• Develop robust and reusable test automation components.
• Perform API testing using REST/SOAP services.
• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins.
• Analyze test execution results and provide detailed defect reports.
• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and QA teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Monitor and improve test automation effectiveness and coverage.
