Job summary

Kumaran Systems is seeking a Junior Automation Testing Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in test automation using Java, Selenium and Playwright. You will develop and maintain automated test scripts, execute test cases, identify defects, and collaborate with developers, QA teams and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality software.

The role is hybrid, based in Chennai, with a 2nd level in-person interview at the Chennai location.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on test automation experience with Java.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver for web automation.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as TestNG/JUnit/Cucumber.
• Understanding of Page Object Model and reusable scripts.
• Knowledge of SQL, REST API testing, and Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong programming knowledge in Java, including OOP concepts, collections, exception handling, and basic data structures.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver for web application automation.
• Knowledge of automation frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, or Cucumber.
• Understanding of test automation framework design, reusable scripts, and Page Object Model (POM).
• Experience in functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing.
• Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, and defect-tracking tools such as Jira.
• Basic understanding of SQL, REST API testing, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
