Job summary

Kumaran Systems in Chennai (Hybrid) is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, and Playwright.

You will build robust automation frameworks, execute API tests, integrate with CI/CD (Jenkins), and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high quality software across domains.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in QA automation.
• Strong programming skills in Java.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver.
• Experience in Playwright Automation.
• Good understanding of TestNG/JUnit frameworks.
• Experience with Maven/Gradle build tools.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Experience with API testing (REST/SOAP).
• Knowledge of SQL and database validation.
• Experience with Git-based version control.
• Familiarity with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of test automation framework design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, and Playwright.
• Build and enhance automation frameworks based on project requirements.
• Create and execute functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end test cases.
• Develop robust and reusable test automation components.
• Perform API testing using REST/SOAP services.
• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins.
• Analyze test execution results and provide detailed defect reports.
• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and QA teams to ensure test coverage.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Monitor and improve test automation effectiveness and coverage.
