Job summary

Kumaran Systems in Chennai invites a QA Automation Engineer with 4–7 years of experience to join our engineering teams. You will design and implement UI and API automation, develop and maintain automation frameworks, and integrate test suites with CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery.

You will apply Java and Selenium WebDriver, perform SQL-based database testing, and use GenAI tools to generate test cases and boost productivity, while collaborating with QA, Development and Business Analysis

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of hands-on software testing in UI and API automation.
• Strong Java and Selenium WebDriver experience.
• Experience in STLC and testing lifecycle.
• Proficiency in SQL-based data validation and DB testing.
• Experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with GenAI tools for test generation.
• Excellent collaboration and communication in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of STLC from requirement analysis to reporting.
• Design, develop, maintain and execute UI automation scripts using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
• Develop and run API automation tests for REST/SOAP services.
• Perform database testing with SQL and backend verification.
• Contribute to automation framework development and maintenance.
• Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze failures, identify root causes, and coordinate with dev teams.
• Leverage GenAI tools for test generation and scripting assistance.
• Collaborate with QA, Development and BA in Agile ceremonies.

Job Description

Experience: 4 - 7 Years

Key Responsibilities

• Participate across the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), including requirement analysis, test planning, test case design, execution, defect management, and reporting.
  
• Design, develop, maintain, and execute UI automation scripts using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
  
• Develop and execute API automation testing for REST/SOAP services and validate responses, integrations, and data accuracy.
  
• Perform database testing using SQL queries for data validation, CRUD operations, joins, and backend verification.
  
• Contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of automation frameworks.
  
• Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines and support regression and scheduled test executions.
  
• Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and collaborate with development teams to resolve defects.
  
• Utilize GenAI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms for test case generation, automation scripting assistance, test data creation, and productivity improvements.
  
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, Development, and Business Analysts.
  

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Java and Selenium WebDriver.
  
• Good understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and software testing principles.
  
• Experience in UI and API Automation Testing.
  
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Database Testing.
  
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, Maven, and Cucumber (BDD).
  
• Good understanding of Git version control and CI/CD concepts.
  
• Experience leveraging AI/GenAI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude for testing and automation activities.
  
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
