Job summary

Capco is hiring an Automation Tester in India with an EMEA shift to join our QA team. The role requires a skilled QA Engineer with 2-5 years of software testing experience, strong manual testing, API testing, and SQL, plus exposure to automation tools.

You will design and execute test cases, perform functional, SIT, regression, and UAT testing, validate APIs, and develop automated scripts using Selenium with Java, TestNG, Cucumber, and Playwright in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in software testing.
• Strong experience in manual testing, API testing, and SQL.
• Hands-on experience in Functional, SIT, Regression, and UAT testing.
• Knowledge of Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, and Playwright.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and execute test cases for web applications.
• Perform Functional, SIT, Regression, and UAT testing to ensure quality.
• Validate APIs and backend data using SQL.
• Identify, log, and track defects to resolution.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium with Java, TestNG, Cucumber, and Playwright.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams and participate in sprint ceremonies.
• Utilize Jira and Confluence for defect tracking and test management.

About the Role

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled QA Engineer with 2-5 years of experience in software testing. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Manual Testing, API Testing, and Database Testing (SQL), along with exposure to automation testing tools and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, create, and execute test cases and test scenarios for web-based applications.
• Perform Functional, SIT, Regression, and UAT Testing to ensure product quality.
• Validate APIs using testing tools and perform backend validation through SQL queries.
• Identify, log, track, and verify defects through resolution.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium with Java, TestNG, Cucumber, and Playwright.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, and Product Owners in an Agile environment.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, test planning, and release activities.
• Utilize Jira and Confluence for defect tracking, documentation, and test management.

Required Skills

• 2-5 years of experience in Software Testing.
• Strong experience in Manual Testing, API Testing, and SQL.
• Hands-on experience in Functional, SIT, Regression, and UAT Testing.
• Good knowledge of Selenium Java, TestNG, Cucumber, and Playwright.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred

• Exposure to automation framework development.
• Experience working in Banking, Capital Markets, or Financial Services domains.
• Understanding of CI/CD and modern QA practices.
