Job summary

UWorld, LLC is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to design and implement high-value test automation for API, CLI, and GUI testing, with Playwright at the core. You will serve as the SME for the Playwright framework, ensuring its evolution, scalability, and best practices across teams.

You will build reusable test suites, integrate with CI/CD, and collaborate with QA, development, and product management to translate customer needs into robust automation solutions in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in CS/Software Eng or related field.
• 5–7 years of hands-on testing of web apps, databases, and API testing.
• Strong Playwright experience for end-to-end automation; Selenium familiarity a plus.

We are seeking an Automation Test Engineer who is passionate about creating an excellent user experience and enjoys taking on new challenges. The Automation Test Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing test plans, unit testing, and other related bug identification tasks to support our test prep applications.

Your Role

• Design, implement, and execute high-value, easily maintainable API, CLI, and GUI test automation (automation framework and test cases) that effectively verifies product quality, using Playwright as the primary automation technology
• Serve as SME for the Playwright-based Automation Framework and be accountable for its ongoing evolution, scalability, and best practices
• Build and maintain reusable Playwright test suites, page object models, and CI/CD integrations for continuous testing
• Collaborate regularly with members of Quality Engineering, Development, and Product Management to fully understand customer needs in order to design and implement optimal test automation solutions
• Estimate, plan, and coordinate automation development and product testing activities in an Agile environment
• Identify, thoroughly document, and track bugs/issues
• Develop and configure test automation scripts and execute performance tests
• Coordinate with product management and engineers to deliver on the stability of products

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 5 - 7 years of hands-on experience in testing web applications, databases, and API testing
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for end-to-end test automation (required); familiarity with Selenium is a plus
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing in an Agile/Scrum framework
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable Playwright automation frameworks (Page Object Model, fixtures, parallel/cross-browser execution)
• Knowledge of working with REST services and understanding of SOA architecture will be an added advantage
• Working knowledge of performance testing tools
