Job summary

Valuemomentum is seeking an experienced Automation QA Engineer with 7–12+ years of API testing and UI automation using Playwright, for Hyderabad location. The role requires strong Postman, REST Assured, REST/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML, CI/CD, JIRA experience and healthcare domain knowledge.

You will design, implement, and maintain scalable automation frameworks, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, and mentor the team on best practices to ensure high-quality software delivery in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Test Automation with strong expertise in API and UI automation.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright using JavaScript/TypeScript or Java for end-to-end test automation.
• Strong experience in API automation using Postman, REST Assured, Playwright API Testing, Karate, SoapUI, or similar tools.
• Experience in designing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with RESTful/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML, web technologies, and API design principles.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Healthcare domain experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners and development teams to understand business requirements and acceptance criteria for API-related features.
• Contribute to defining test strategies, including both manual and automated approaches, to effectively validate APIs.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation test suites for API and UI testing using Playwright, Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• Build automated frameworks to streamline testing, reduce manual overhead, and ensure consistency.
• Integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Execute manual and automated tests, analyze results, and identify root causes of defects.
• Track and report defects using bug-tracking tools like JIRA, ensuring defects are assigned to the correct teams and resolved in a timely manner.
• Provide clear and concise test results, metrics, and status updates to stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews of test scripts and mentor team members on best practices for test automation.
• Work closely with the development team to ensure APIs are designed for testability and reliability.
• Continuously evaluate and recommend new tools or processes to improve test coverage, reliability, and speed.
