Job summary

Datagaps in Hyderabad is seeking an Automation Tester with 3 to 5 years of experience in software testing and automation. The role focuses on Playwright UI automation and API automation within an Agile team, building scalable test frameworks and integrating into CI/CD pipelines.

You will work with QA and development, implement AI-assisted testing practices, and ensure robust validation of web applications using modern automation tools.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI automation solutions using Playwright.
• Design and implement robust API automation for functional, integration, and regression testing.
• Create reusable automation components, page objects, utilities, and test workflows.
• Analyze application requirements and develop effective test automation strategies.
• Validate API request/response payloads, status codes, headers, authentication, and business validations.
• Handle dynamic web elements using Playwright locators, XPath, CSS selectors, and other appropriate approaches.
• Investigate automation failures, identify root causes, and resolve framework or test issues.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Collaborate with developers, Product Owners, and QA teams throughout the SDLC.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Automation Tester with 3 to 5 years of experience in software testing and automation. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Playwright And API Automation and a good understanding of automation framework design, web application testing, and Agile methodologies.

The ideal candidate should also be familiar with modern AI-assisted automation and Quality Engineering practices, with the ability to leverage AI technologies to improve testing efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright – Mandatory
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in API Automation – Mandatory
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Software Testing/QA Automation.
• Good understanding of web application testing and automation concepts.
• Strong programming and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with automation framework design and development.
• Good knowledge of web technologies, DOM structure, locators, XPath, and CSS selectors.
• Experience with Git/GitHub or similar version control systems.

AI & Modern Automation

The candidate should have a strong understanding of AI-assisted test automation and the integration of AI capabilities into automation workflows/frameworks.

Exposure to areas such as the following is preferred:

• Generative AI for test case and automation script generation.
• AI-assisted test analysis and failure investigation.
• AI-based test maintenance and intelligent locator assistance.
• AI agents or LLM-based automation workflows.
• Tools such as GitHub Copilot, MCP, Playwright Test Agents, Claude or similar technologies.
• Using AI to improve test coverage, automation productivity, debugging, reporting, and overall QA efficiency.

Good to Have

• TypeScript
• BDD / Cucumber

• Experience with Selenium WebDriver.
