• Automatically generate BOMs, wire lists, and component schedules from CAD data.
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineers to incorporate revisions and redlines.
• Maintain drafting standards and symbol libraries per IEC/IEEE/ANSI.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Draftsman with dedicated experience in the Power Generation domain. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and managing comprehensive electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical. The ideal candidate understands power plant systems and can efficiently translate engineering concepts into highly accurate, production-ready electrical drafting packages.

Key Responsibilities

• Schematic & Layout Creation: Draft detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams (SLDs), three-line diagrams, control schematics, and wiring schedules for power generation systems using AutoCAD Electrical.


• Panel & Termination Layouts: Design physical internal panel layouts, terminal block layouts, and wire routing diagrams for control panels and switchgear.


• Database & Tool Management: Utilize smart features in AutoCAD Electrical, including project databases, automatic wire numbering, component tagging, and cross-referencing.


• BOM Generation: Automatically extract and manage accurate Bills of Materials (BOM), wire lists, and component schedules directly from the CAD environment.


• Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with Electrical Engineers to incorporate design revisions, redlines, and markup modifications seamlessly.


• Standardization: Maintain and enforce company drafting standards, symbol libraries, and international electrical drafting conventions.

Work Experience

• Education: Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Drafting/Design.


• Experience: 5+ years of professional drafting experience specifically within the Power Generation, substations, heavy industrial utilities, or energy domain.


• Software Expertise: Advanced, daily proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical (including project-wide operations, smart schematic tools, and reporting tools).


• Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of power generation electrical systems, including generators, transformers, switchgear, protective relays, and PLC control circuits.


• Standards Familiarity: Robust working knowledge of industry drafting symbols and standards such as IEC, IEEE, or ANSI.
