Job summary

Quest Global is seeking an Electrical Draftsman with extensive experience in the Power Generation domain. You will create, modify, and manage electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.

A strong understanding of power plant systems and precise drafting packages is essential. Responsibilities include detailed design, validation with engineers and customers, leading the team, and reviewing schematics for power generation systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of professional design experience in power generation, substations, heavy industrial utilities, or energy domain.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Strong familiarity with UL and NEC standards.

Responsibilities

• Detailed design based on UL/NEC standards for control panels, cable routing, component selection, and BOM preparation.
• Validate designs with chief engineers and customers.
• Lead and manage day-to-day activities for the team.
• Design physical panel layouts, terminal block layouts, and wire routing for control panels and switchgear.
• Review schematics, SLDs, three-line diagrams, control schematics, and wiring schedules.
• Guide the team to use AutoCAD Electrical project databases, automatic wire numbering, and tagging.

Job Requirements

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Draftsman with dedicated experience in the Power Generation domain. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and managing comprehensive electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical. The ideal candidate understands power plant systems and can efficiently translate engineering concepts into highly accurate, production-ready electrical drafting packages.

Key Responsibilities

• Detailed Design: Perform detailed engineering design based on UL/NEC standards for the control panels, Cable routing, Selections of components, prepare Bill of Materials. Perform all type of Design Calculations as required.
• Validation: Get all the designs validated & take necessary approvals from the Chief Engineers & Customers.
• Lead & Manage the Team: Prepare required mark ups and get it executed by the team members. Lead & Manage day to day activities for the entire team.
• Panel & Termination Layouts: Design physical internal panel layouts, terminal block layouts, and wire routing diagrams for control panels and switchgears.
• Schematic & Layout Review: Review electrical schematics, single-line diagrams (SLDs), three-line diagrams, control schematics, and wiring schedules for power generation systems created in AutoCAD Electrical by the junior engineers.
• Experience on Database & Tool Management: Guide the team to utilize smart features in AutoCAD Electrical, including project databases, automatic wire numbering, component tagging, and cross-referencing.

Work Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience: 8+ years of professional design experience specifically within the Power Generation, substations, heavy industrial utilities, or energy domain.
• Software Expertise: Advanced, daily proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical (including project-wide operations, smart schematic tools, and reporting tools).
• Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of power generation electrical systems, including generators, transformers, switchgear, protective relays, and PLC control circuits.
• Standards Familiarity: Robust knowledge on UL & NEC standards.
