Job summary

Quest Global in India is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to develop electrical schematics, layouts and cable lists using SEE Electric, and to upgrade legacy systems per global standards. You will perform power calculations, select components, and generate BOMs while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires hands-on panel design experience, proficiency with schematic capture, and collaboration with RFQ and execution teams.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of electrical standards (IEC 60617, IEC 61439-1/2, IEC 61508/61511) and safety levels.
• Knowledge of pneumatic symbols and electrical CAD tools.
• Hands-on experience in low voltage control panel design and automation control panels for SPM.
• Experienced in concept design of schematic architecture and electrical design calculations.
• Skilled in schematic, single-line drawings, layout, and BOM/cable list generation.
• Good understanding of global electrical codes (IEC, UL, NEC, NFPA), sensors, PLCs, servo drives, and motors.
• Experience with AB/Siemens PLCs and HMI.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience with electrical CAD/ EPLAN/SEE Electrical.
• Strong problem solving and ability to upgrade legacy machines.

Responsibilities

• Create electrical schematics, layout designs, and cable generation using SEE Electric per standards.
• Convert legacy machine schematics for upgrades per standards.
• Generate BOM and cable lists from SEE Electric.
• Perform power calculations for main disconnects, transformers, breakers, and cabinet cooling.
• Select breakers, sensors, drives, motors and safety devices per safety PL levels.
• Replace obsolete electrical parts while maintaining form, fit, and function.
• Create and revise documents; release in Team Center.
• Support RFQ and project execution teams.
• Lead kickoff meetings with design teams and stakeholders.
• Perform self and team QC for accuracy and consistency.

Job Description

• Creation of Electrical schematics, Layout design & cable generation using SEE Electric software as per Standards.
• Conversion of legacy machines Electrical schematics for new upgrades as per Standards.
• Generation of part list and cable list from SEE Electric software.
• Perform power calculation for Main disconnector switch, transformer, Circuit breakers & cabinet thermal calculation.
• Should be able to select breakers, Sensors, Drives, motors, safety devices according to the required safety Pl level.
• Perform replacement of obsolete electrical parts by maintaining Form, Fit and Functions of the existing design of the machines
• Perform document creation, Revision, Releasing in Team Center software.
• Support the team for RFQ and Execution.
• Conduct Kick off meeting with design team and relevant stakeholders of the project.
• Perform self-quality checks and Team QC ensure accuracy and consistency in all deliveries
• Excellent oral & written English communication.
• Proficiency in French will be added advantage.

Required Skills

• Strong Knowledge of Electrical Standards such as IEC 60617, IEC 61439-1, -2 compliance, IEC 61508 / 61511 – Safety Integrity level.
• Knowledge of Pneumatic symbols
• Must have Hands-on experience in Low voltage control panel design, Automation control Panel for SPM.
• Experience in Concept design of Schematic architecture, Electrical design calculation.
• Experience in Schematic, Single line drawing, Layout, Bill of material – Part list & Cable list
