Job summary

JK Engineers Techpro is seeking an experienced structural engineering leader for onshore/offshore design packages. You will mentor engineers and designers, manage manhour estimates, and ensure designs comply with global codes and project requirements.

The role entails performing detailed structural calculations, blast and lifting analyses, and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to finalize drawings and specifications for client reviews.

Qualifications

• Experience in upstream onshore/offshore well site packages and related structures.
• Knowledge of international design codes such as AISC, ASCE, ACI, IBC and BS EN 1991/1993.
• Exposure to client specifications (e.g., Saudi Aramco, Shell, ONGC) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of engineers and designers, assign work, coach and mentor.
• Prepare and oversee manhour estimates and work plans.
• Perform/approve structural design and analysis calculations per codes and standards.
• Generate analysis reports and categorize structural members by criticality.
• Conduct blast, transport, lifting analyses, and load/COG calculations.
• Size lifting lugs, pad eyes, slings, shackles, and spreader bars.
• Participate in design review meetings (internal/external).
• Issue purchase requisitions and technical clearances for structural items.
• Review sub-vendor quotations for structural items.
• Attend client meetings and address queries.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for IDC and final design.
• Follow and deploy QMS procedures within the discipline.
• Review and approve as-built structural drawings.
• Lead by example and allocate time for toolbox meetings and HSE trainings.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a group of Engineers, Designers, modelers by assigning work and coaching them, mentoring them.
• To carryout manhours estimates, prepares and oversees workplan in accordance with project delivery, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and perform accordingly.
• Performing / reviewing and approving structural design and analysis calculations as per governing codes, standards & regulations, engineering formulas, best engineering practice and skill / experience.
• Analysis report generation & grouping of structural members as per criticality
• Performing blast analysis, transport analysis, lifting analysis, etc.
• Performing load & COG calculations.
• Lifting lug / pad eye sizing, Sling and Shackle calculation, Spreader bar calculation.
• To Participate in Design review meetings (internal or external) as and when required.
• Issue of Purchase Requisitions, TDCs as required for Structural items.
• Reviewing and technically clearing the sub-vendor quotation for Structural items.
• Attending to client meetings and responding to queries.
• Responsible for coordination with other disciplines in the Engg. Department in finalizing the design including Interdisciplinary Check (IDC).
• Responsible to follow and deploy QMS procedures within the discipline.
• Reviewing and approving of as-built Structural drawings.
• Lead by example; be prepared to perform all tasks required in the initiation, close and execution of the project.
• Allocate enough time for Toolbox meetings and HSE trainings.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Experience in Upstream onshore / offshore well site packages, FPSO, Industrial structural design, Plant structures, Skid / packaged equipment structures, Topside structural design, connection design (welded and bolted), etc.
• Should possess good knowledge of international structural design codes AISC, ASCE, ACI, IBC, BS EN 1991, BS EN 1993, Russian SNiP, GOST, IS 800, etc.
• Exposure to Saudi Aramco, ADCO, PDO, Shell, KOC, ONGC, etc. company specifications / Engineering practices related to Structural would be an added advantage.
• Shall have good knowledge in technical applications, manufacturing process & methods, welding symbols, Materials strength and its properties.
• Shall have good knowledge in reviewing the Structural detail fabrication drawings.
• Experience in developing excel spreadsheets (using VB Macros) for structural element & connection design as per project requirement will be an added advantag
