Qualifications

• Graduate or postgraduate qualification in Structural/Civil Engineering.
• Excellent knowledge of civil/structural design standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE, EURO, BS, GBCODE).
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering team.
• Weekly planning for team and provide technical guidance.
• Execute designs of plant engineering for efficient structural design concepts.
• Review structural design basis with respect to contractual specifications & codes.
• Review Staad & connection files and ensure input data readiness.
• Coordinate with Tekla group during conceptual stage and with other disciplines.

Job Description:

Lead Structural engineers shall lead the structural team. He shall be accountable for specification review, Staad analysis review, connection analysis review, introducing system to optimise cycle time, meet job target dates, optimising the structural design, mentoring the team members, review Tekla file with Staad file, review civil foundation drawings, while also ensuring that the work meets relevant codes, accepted engineering practices, and applicable standards. They are also in charge of executing independent works that entails assessing, choosing, applying and modifying structural engineering methods, processes and Jord standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead structural engineering team
• Weekly planning for team to be done and support them in their duties with routine follow-up & with technical information.
• Execute designs of plant engineering for efficient structural design concepts.
• Review structural design basis with respect to contractual specifications & structural codes.
• Review Staad & connection files. Ensure all pertinent input data is available with team members to complete the necessary tasks.
• Review the inter department input transfer file generated by structural department before it is released to Tekla group.
• Research design options and documents findings for optimizes structural design.
• Responsible for training and mentoring the team to build their technical skill and achieve weekly planned targets.
• Perform special task as assigned.
• Report any critical risks to your manager.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical and other inter disciplinary
• Create and maintain company and reference standards for structural designs and procedures.
• Monitor quality of documentation issued from engineering and strive for zero errors.
• Support to be provided to structural team to resolve structural engineering issues with shop /client through lead design engineers.
• Standardization and productivity improvement system to be implemented.
• Support to be provided for sales activity.
• Review to be done with Tekla group during conceptualizing stage of plant engineering.

Skills and Experience:

• Graduate, preferably Post Graduate qualification in Structural / Civil Engineering
• Over 15 years of experience with advance knowledge in steel structural engineering
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
• Knowledge of civil/structural design standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE, EURO, BS, GBCODE)
• Working knowledge of design software, STAAD Pro, RAM
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Shall have few years of experience on lifting, road & sea transportation of heavy modular structural.
• Shall have few years of experience on dynamic analysis of structure.
• Must be able to work cross functionally with team members at all levels across multiple departments involved in different projects
• Ability to think creatively to optimize designs
• Able to discuss and resolve structural design changes
