Job summary

Sigma Infosolutions Ltd. Bengaluru is seeking an IT System Administrator to install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network systems across on‑prem and cloud environments.

You will support day‑to‑day IT operations, backup and patch management, and help troubleshoot servers, networks, and applications. The role requires collaboration with senior admins, documentation of configurations, and administration of cloud services and virtualization (e.g., Hyper‑V).

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software and networks.
• Support day‑to‑day IT operations including servers, storage, and networks.
• Troubleshoot server, network, and application issues.
• Perform backups, updates, and patch management.
• Provide user support for hardware and software problems.
• Collaborate with senior system admins on projects.
• Maintain documentation of configurations and procedures.
• Assist in cloud services and virtualization (Hyper-V).
• Hands-on with G Suite and Office 365.
• Participate in IT asset management and inventory control.
• Set up and configure new workstations, servers, networking devices.
• Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux systems.
• Basic networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• Hands-on with Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Understand virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, etc.).
• Experience with backup and recovery tools.
• Knowledge of IT security principles (firewalls, antivirus, patch management).

• Help with system backups, software updates, and patch management.

• Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and technical specifications.
• Assist in the administration of cloud-based services and virtualized environments (e.g., Hyper-V).
• Hands-on experience with G-suite,o365.

• Assist with setting up and configuring new workstations, servers, and networking devices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the IT department or senior system administrators.
• Familiarity with Windows Server, Linux/ubuntu-based systems.
• Basic knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy.
• Basic understanding of virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, or similar).
• Experience with backup and recovery tools and strategies.
• Understanding of IT security principles, such as firewalls, anti-virus software, and patch management.
