Job summary

Grant Thornton in Delhi is seeking an experienced in-house counsel to manage legal, compliance and risk matters. The role focuses on drafting and negotiating IT contracts, reviewing tenders and RFPs, and providing strategic legal advice to leadership.

Ideal candidates have 8–10 years of in-house experience, strong English communication, and familiarity with Indian regulations. This is a senior professional role in a consultancy/professional services environment.

Qualifications

• Experience drafting and negotiating IT contracts including software licensing, SaaS and outsourcing.
• Experience drafting internal policies and SOPs.
• 8–10 years as in-house counsel, preferably in professional services or IT.
• Well-versed with Indian laws, CA Act knowledge is advantageous.
• Strong English communication, both written and spoken.

• Handle general legal, compliance and risk queries from business units and support functions.
• Reply to regulators, clients and administrative bodies on various issues.

Responsibilities

• Handling general legal, compliance and risk related queries from Business Units and Support functions.
• Replying to Regulators/Clients/ Administrative bodies on various issues and notices
• Providing advisory support to business leadership
• Legal Research
• Handling employee related matters
• Team Management

Requirements

• The candidate should have the relevant experience of Reviewing of Government tenders, Request for Proposals, EOIs, etc.
• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and finalization of commercial contracts both from client and vendor side having specialization relating to information technology contracts such as software purchase, software licensing agreements, SaaS, PaaS, system integration, application management services, reselling agreements, teaming agreements, go to market arrangements, strategic outsourcing, etc.
• Adept in drafting of internal policies, standard templates, and SoPs
• Knowledge of CA Act & ICAI code of ethics would be an added advantage
• LLB
• Computer working knowledge is must
• Experience in professional services organization or Consultancy services or IT sector.
• Well-versed with various laws and regulations of India.
• Effective English communication skills (spoken and written) along with Computer knowledge.
• Experience of working with big consultancy firms as part of their inhouse legal team would be added advantage.
• Work Experience: 8-10 years of working as in-house counsel.
