Job summary

Vbeyond Corporation is seeking a Head of Legal & Regulatory Affairs in Gurugram to steer the India legal, regulatory, compliance, privacy and corporate governance functions. You will advise the MD and Leadership Team, enabling growth while managing legal and regulatory risk.

You will build and lead a high-performing team, manage complex contracts, and ensure DPDP/GDPR compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Strong in-house leadership with exposure to governance and compliance.
• Experience with regulatory matters, contracts and privacy regimes.
• Ability to work with senior leadership, boards and regulators.
• Knowledge of DPDP/GDPR, corporate governance and IP rights.

Head: Legal & Regulatory Affairs

Location: Gurugram

Role Overview

The Head Legal & Regulatory Affairs will lead the India legal, regulatory, compliance, privacy and corporate governance function. The role will act as the key legal advisor to the Managing Director and Leadership Team, enabling business growth while managing legal and regulatory risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and drive the India legal, regulatory and governance strategy.
• Advise the MD and Leadership Team on strategic, commercial and complex legal matters.
• Lead corporate governance, compliance, policy management and regulatory affairs.
• Review and negotiate complex commercial contracts, strategic alliances, licensing and other business agreements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable corporate, regulatory and statutory requirements, including Companies Act, SEBI and other relevant regulations.
• Lead data privacy and protection governance, including DPDP Act and GDPR requirements.
• Oversee litigation, disputes, legal risks and external legal counsel.
• Manage relationships with regulators, government authorities, industry bodies and external counsel.
• Support Board governance, reporting and strategic decision-making.
• Oversee IP, copyrights, trademarks, publishing rights and content licensing.
• Build and develop a high-performing legal and regulatory team.

Candidate Profile

• LL.M./CS required
• 810 years of progressive experience in legal, regulatory affairs, corporate governance and compliance, preferably with multinational organizations.
• Strong in-house legal leadership experience with exposure to commercial contracts, corporate law, privacy, governance, regulatory matters, litigation and enterprise risk.
• Experience working with senior leadership, Boards, regulators and external legal counsel.
• Strong knowledge of DPDP/GDPR, corporate governance, commercial contracts and IP/content rights.
• Strong commercial acumen, executive presence, stakeholder management and people leadership.
