Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Senior Data Governance & Analytics leader in Gurugram to architect and implement enterprise data governance, catalogs, and MD mappings. You will drive governance policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor a team across products, engineering and data stakeholders.

With 11+ years in data engineering and analytics and 5+ years in governance, you will leverage Generative AI to enhance productivity and accuracy, shaping data strategy for complex client

Qualifications

• 11+ years of experience in data engineering & analytics and 5+ years in data governance activities.
• Bachelor's or master's in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• Ability to leverage Generative AI and Agentic AI for productivity, accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Proven project credentials in design and implementation of data governance platform.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of data governance frameworks, data catalogs including data lineage and metadata management.
• Experience working on tools like Collibra, Alation, Apache Atlas, Snowflake / Big Query and other cloud governance services.
• Should be hands‑on in design and enforce data governance policies, standards and procedures.
• Substantial experience in MDM Strategies and workflows. Experience working with industry data models and taxonomies.
• Industry experience in implementing regulatory compliance with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and other regulations.
• Experience in designing data classification, data security policies and procedures.
• Experience working with Data stewards and business owners on ownership policies.
• Design monitoring systems for data quality and data compliance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders including business, products, engineering and technical stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide team members on best practices in data engineering and data governance.
• Hands‑on experience of Generative AI and Agentic AI for data engineering and governance.
