Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal in India is seeking a senior Data Platform & Engineering Leader to design and deliver enterprise data platforms, pipelines, and integration frameworks across cloud and on‑prem environments.

You will drive data modernization, build data lakes and lakehouses, govern data quality and metadata, and lead global delivery teams while promoting an engineering‑led culture of high performance.

Qualifications

• 10–14 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platforms, or Data Modernization initiatives.
• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale data engineering programs and global delivery teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and consulting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of enterprise data platforms, pipelines, and integration frameworks.

How you will contribute

1. Data Platform & Engineering Delivery:

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data platforms, pipelines, and integration frameworks.
• Build scalable and resilient data solutions across cloud and on-prem ecosystems.
• Drive development of data ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers supporting analytics and AI use cases.
• Ensure data engineering best practices across architecture, performance, security, and scalability.

2. Data Modernization:

• Lead migration from legacy data platforms to modern cloud-based architectures.
• Implement Data Lakes, Lakehouses, and modern data platforms to support enterprise reporting and advanced analytics.
• Support MDM, data quality, metadata management, and governance initiatives.

3. Stakeholder & Delivery Management:

• Partner with global business, architecture, analytics, and AI teams to deliver strategic data initiatives.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Drive program execution, delivery governance, and risk management.

4. Capability Building:

• Build reusable frameworks, accelerators, and engineering standards.
• Establish engineering best practices including DevOps, CI/CD, testing, observability, and automation.

5. People Leadership:

• Lead and mentor teams of data engineers and technical leads.
• Drive capability development, talent management, and career progression.
• Foster a high-performance, engineering-led culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 10–14 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platforms, or Data Modernization initiatives.
• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale data engineering programs and global delivery teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and consulting capabilities.
