Job summary

GEA is seeking an automation engineer to develop software for HMI, PLC and SCADA systems, and to support site commissioning across Indian and international projects. The role requires hands-on experience with Rockwell/Siemens/Schneider, HMI/SCADA platforms, and strong fault-finding skills.

Travel ~60% within India and abroad may be required. Ideal candidates will hold a B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation with 1–7 years in dairy, food, beverages or brewery industries, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation or similar
• 1-7 years of experience
• Experience in Dairy/Food/Beverage/Brewery industry is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop software for HMI, PLC, SCADA (Rockwell/Siemens/Schneider)
• Support site commissioning and FAT/SAT
• Prepare FDS write-ups and related documentation
• Provide remote site support and travel as needed

Tasks

• Software Logic Development in Automation Platform Rockwell/Siemens/Schneider
• SCADA Screen Development in Rockwell, Wonderware Intouch, System Platform
• FDS write up and update as per developed program

Bachelor of Engineering Degree in

• Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation & Controls or similar education background

Work Experience

• 1-7 year
• Experience on any particular Dairy / Food / Beverages / Brewery Industry

Skills

• Know how of basic automation platform - e.g. Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider etc.
• Know how of various programming languages on S88 standard e.g. ladder, STL, FBD, SCL
• In-depth knowledge of HMI and SCADA - e.g. Factory Talk, WinCC, TIA, InTouch, System platform etc.
• RS Batch / In-Batch Knowledge would be an added advantage
• Fault finding / Troubleshooting skill / P&ID Understanding
• Server Client Set-up and System Architecture knowledge would be an added advantage
• Industry 4.0 / IIoT Platform
• Basic knowledge on Electrical drawings reading and components identification
• Team player
• Good Communication skill
• Self learning capability

Travel Requirements

• The Engineer would be based in India office
• Extensive travel will be required (Approx.60%), Involving in Panel FAT or Pre-Commissioning on site throughout India & abroad.
