Job summary

JLL is seeking a Regional Building Operation Systems (BOS) Manager to lead the operation of our region's digital building portfolio. You will integrate BMS, LMS and IoT into a centralized cloud platform to drive efficiency and sustainability.

Bridge Facilities and IT, ensure Client Digital Building Standards, and manage digital assets from deployment to optimization with a focus on cybersecurity and uptime. 8+ years in BOS/BMS or smart buildings required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or IT; equivalent practical experience encouraged.
• Minimum 5 years in smart building tech, with BOS/BMS or facility IT operations.
• Strong understanding of IoT, cloud integration, and BOS tech stacks.
• Experience with BACnet, Modbus, KNX protocols and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Drive digital strategy for the Smart Building portfolio, aligning to client standards.
• Oversee onboarding of buildings to the BOS platform, including data validation.
• Analyze real-time data to improve energy performance and reduce costs.
• Lead projects with OEMs/vendors and manage system handovers and cyber compliance.
• Maintain ICT networks for buildings and ensure uptime of critical equipment.

What this job involves:

As the Regional Building Operation Systems (BOS) Manager, you will lead the strategic operation and maintenance of the region’s digital building portfolio. Your primary focus will be managing the holistic "Smart Systems" ecosystem—integrating BMS, LMS, and IoT technologies into a centralized cloud platform to drive operational efficiency and sustainability. Acting as the technical bridge between Facility Management and IT, you will ensure strict adherence to Client Digital Building Standards, oversee cybersecurity compliance, and manage the full lifecycle of digital assets from hardware deployment to data-driven performance optimization.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Drive Digital Strategy: Implement frameworks and policies to advance the "Smart Building" portfolio, ensuring all systems meet Client Digital Building standards.
• System Integration: Oversee the onboarding of buildings to the BOS platform, including ontology mapping, data validation, and the seamless integration of BMS and IoT devices.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze real-time operational data to identify inefficiencies, recommending solutions that enhance energy performance and reduce costs.
• Project & Vendor Management: Lead system enhancement projects and coordinate with OEMs/vendors for hardware upgrades, software integration, and defect resolution.
• Cybersecurity & Infrastructure: Manage building ICT networks and ensure strict cyber compliance for all connected devices and digital assets.
• Technical Support: Act as the primary escalation point for troubleshooting BOS integration issues, ensuring the resiliency and uptime of critical equipment.
• Asset Management: Regularly audit and manage the inventory of all digital hardware, software, and associated licensing.

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or IT with a minimum of 8 years of experience, including at least 3 years in a specialized BOS, BMS, or Smart Building role.
• Smart Building Expertise: Deep understanding of IoT ecosystems, cloud integration, and BOS platform technology stacks (e.g., Clearblade, UDMI, Data Ontology).
• Building Systems Knowledge: Strong technical grasp of BMS, HVAC, Lighting (LMS), and Fire Alarm Systems, including how devices communicate to the cloud.
• Network Proficiency: Solid understanding of IT infrastructure and network protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and KNX.
• Data & Analytics: Experience with data mapping, database management (SQL is a plus), and visualization tools like Power BI to drive data-driven decisions.
• Project Management: Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects, coordinate with OEMs/vendors, and oversee system handovers.
• Digital Proficiency: Advanced literacy in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) or MS Off ice, with the ability to create high-quality technical presentations.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Education & Professional Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or Information Technology is preferred; however, we strongly encourage applicants with equivalent practical experience and relevant certifications to apply.
• Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, with a specific focus on smart building technologies, BMS integration, or facility IT operations.
• Core Technical Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in the BOS technology stack, including IoT device integration, cloud communication (e.g., Clearblade, UDMI), and data ontology mapping.
• Systems Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), HVAC, and Lighting Control Systems, including familiarity with standard protocols like BACnet, Modbus, and KNX.
• Data & Analytics: Ability to work with database concepts and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL) to interpret complex operational data.
• Project & Vendor Management: Proven experience managing technical projects, overseeing OEM vendors, and coordinating system deployments in a live facility environment.
• Cybersecurity Awareness: Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles as they apply to Operational Technology (OT) and IoT networks.
