Job summary

Assistant Quality Inspector in Surendranagar, Gujarat with Ingersoll Rand India Ltd. The role focuses on ensuring pumps and components meet quality standards through inspection, documentation, and compliance with ISO 9001.

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that pumps, components, and processes meet defined quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry norms. The role involves inspection, documentation, process control, continuous improvement, and coordination with production, design, and supply chain teams to maintain high product quality.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Inspection
  • Carry out incoming, in‑process, and final inspection of pump components and assemblies
  • Inspect components such as shafts, casings, gears, impellers, bearings, seals, and assemblies
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and functional requirements
  • Approve or reject parts as per drawings, specifications, and quality plans
  • Support pump hydro testing, performance testing, and pre‑dispatch inspection (PDI)
Documentation & Compliance
  • Prepare and maintain quality documents such as Inspection Plans (IP), ITPs, QAPs, and checklists
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and company quality systems
  • Maintain inspection records, reports, and non‑conformance reports (NCRs)
  • Support internal, external, and customer audits
Process Improvement & Problem Solving
  • Identify quality issues and conduct root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Monitor process capability and suggest improvements to reduce defects and rework
Work with production and design teams on quality improvement initiatives

Supplier & Customer Quality
  • Assist in vendor quality evaluation and incoming material inspection
  • Coordinate with suppliers for quality issues and corrective actions
  • Support customer complaints, technical clarifications, and quality documentation
  • Participate in customer inspections and quality discussions
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering
  • Certification in Quality tools or ISO (added advantage)
