Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield Mumbai seeks an Assistant Project Manager (MEP) to support planning, review drawings, and coordinate with design consultants, architects, and vendors to deliver projects on schedule.

You will monitor site activities, ensure installations meet drawings and specs, supervise contractors, and assist in billing, documentation, and handover processes. Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and Excel is required, with knowledge of NBC/NFPA and local norms.

Qualifications

• Experience in MEP coordination and fit-out projects.
• Familiarity with NBC, NFPA, and local authority norms.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and Excel for tracking.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in overall MEP planning and execution.

• Monitor day-to-day MEP site activities.

• Ensure approvals from client/consultant before execution.
• Maintain documentation for audits and handover.
• Coordinate between HVAC vs ceiling layouts, electrical vs furniture/workstations, fire fighting vs services.

Job responsibilities of Assistant Project Manager ( MEP )

Project Planning & Coordination

• Assist Project Manager in overall MEP planning and execution
• Review drawings (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, ELV)
• Coordinate with design consultants, architects, and vendors
• Prepare MEP execution strategy as per project timeline

Site Execution & Supervision

• Monitor day-to-day MEP site activities
• Ensure installation as per approved drawings and specifications
• Supervise contractors (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting)
• Ensure proper sequencing with civil & interior works

Quantity & Billing Support

• Assist in quantity take-offs (BOQ verification)
• Track material consumption vs BOQ
• Verify contractor bills and RA bills
• Support in cost control and variation tracking

Documentation & Approvals

• Prepare and track:
  • Shop drawings
  • Material submittals
  • Method statements
• Ensure approvals from client/consultant before execution
• Maintain proper documentation (important for audits & handover)

MEP Coordination (Very Critical in Fit-Out)

• Coordinate between:
  • HVAC vs ceiling layouts
  • Electrical vs furniture/workstations
  • Fire fighting vs services clashes
• Participate in coordination meetings
• Resolve site clashes quickly (MEP + Interior coordination is key)

Project Scheduling & Tracking

• Assist in preparing project schedules (MS Project/Primavera)
• Track progress vs baseline
• Identify delays and escalating issues
• Ensure milestone achievement

Quality Control

• Ensure all MEP works meet quality standards
• Conduct inspections and checklist verification
• Ensure compliance with client specifications and standards

Safety Management

• Ensure safety practices at site (especially electrical & working at height)
• Coordinate with safety team
• Conduct toolbox talks for MEP workers

Testing & Commissioning

• Assist in:
  • HVAC testing & balancing
  • Electrical testing (IR, continuity, load testing)
  • Fire alarm & sprinkler testing
• Ensure all systems are functional before handover

Handover & Closeout

• Prepare:
  • As-built drawings
  • O&M manuals
  • Snag list clearance
• Support final handover to client

Additional Skills Required

• Strong coordination skills (MEP + Interior integration)
• Knowledge of codes (NBC, NFPA, local authority norms like BMC/NMMC)
• Software:
  • AutoCAD
  • MS Project / Primavera
  • Excel (for tracking & reporting)
